Some Photos of Emisar D18

Not a review but I just want to share with you some photos of my Emisar D18.

It’s slightly longer than Noctigon M43 but smaller diameter. Double brightness, recessed switch but no switch light compared to the M43. Knurling is nicer and less aggressive/sharp than M43. The plate to hold optics is now made of material like a pcb, not aluminium like M43. Bezel is now stainless steel.

What I would like it to have:

  • Switch light or Aux light to be able to locate it in the dark.
  • An option to have USB charging feature. I think that a thin charging circuit can be placed at the tail, with a magnetic connection like Olight is very nice. I don’t like the process of taking battery out for charging and put it back in, it’s time consuming and incovenient, especially when batteries stuck at the charger. Therefore, options to buy tailcap with or without charging circuit is great.
  • The only thing I don’t really like about it is the greenish tint of sst20 leds at lower levels. It’s not big deal if tint is not your concern or you primarily use higher levels.

Overall a very high quality flashlight with high quality component like all other Noctigon/Emisar’s produtcts, full of aluminium and pure copper for low eletrical and heat resistance, super bright 14,000 lumen max. Very good value for money.

Excellent post thank you !

Very clean photos! I got mine in black as well and it arrived today, charging the batteries right now… Ugh it takes too long :weary:

very interesting observations of my D18 and M43:

  1. On white wall, the Nichia 219C of the M43 look clearly more greenish than the SST20 of D18 at higher levels.
But on camera, the SST20 look more greenish.

2. To my eyes, the Nichia 219C look more greenish than SS20 on white wall, but on something with a hint of red in it, like wood, the Nichia 219 looks way more rosy than the SST20.
I think the R9 really makes the difference here, and the greenish tint does not mean that R9 is low.
