I really hope that this was an individual fluke and not something else.

Anyhoo, it it came down to shipping problems, I’ll just have to include something else to bump up the thickness and protect the LEDs even more.

What can I say? They’re awesome! Not rosy on low modes, but 100% neutral. Way better than the nasty green FB4. On turbo it does get rosy.

So these are rosier than the SST-20 4000K that comes with the FW3A? Because I tested my FW3A and FW3C and confirmed Lumintop is using the FD2 tint bin for the 4000K. This is very interesting if these are rosier than the Lumintop batch.

Still, these are good tint bin SST-20s, so at the price I paid I ended up at about $4.00 for each of the 5 working ones. Normal price for the lesser tint binned ones is often around $3.

Hopefully it's just me and no one else has issues.

The actual per unit price of these leds is a lot lower than $3 or $4, a lot (and the above comment smells like some bad way to believe). Now imagine you aim to build a lamp with a few dozens of emitters, are you sure you are still wanting to pay $4 a piece? Get real for the love of God. I for sure would not be excusing the screw-up.

If this were a store or online retailer I’d be pissed and looking to return them. But I wouldn’t really expect a return or refund policy from some dude on an internet forum. Honestly I’m pissed but it’s probably just not worth the hassle. Minus the shipping the dead LEDs were $7.50

I’m generally an asshole but I was trying my hand at being nice.

Well…I’m hopeful that all mine will work. I spent a little more than $7.50.

@jasontheguitarist, don’t worry. When you receive your MCPCBs, test out your dead LEDs, and see if they are really dead.
If they are, I’ll talk to the distributor, and refund your 7,50$US.

This is worrying me, as others that only ordered LEDs last GB didn’t have any problems at all using the same shipping methods, and I shipped around 900 LEDs.

I’ll try to make sure everybody is as happy as possible.

I mean, today I tested them directly with my multimeter and I’m pretty confident 5 of them are just dead. But yea, my tracking finally updated and I should get the PCBs on Monday. I’ll reflow a couple of these and extra confirm they don’t work.

No worries anyway. Sent you a refund anyway.

I just don’t care at this point. I barely have any profit margin on the LEDs anyway.

I mean, I did ship yours last week, so you’ll probably get it next week or the week after at worst.

Only Europeans and East Asians get to have their packages super fast/reasonably quickly.

All others have to wait.

I’ll be shipping the rest of the packages this weekend and should be finished early next week.

No, but you’re on the list for this weekend.

Let’s just say that I have a new job at an interesting place that took some time reserved for prepping plus shipping the packages:

Just want to make sure I’m caught up and that my reading comprehension is up to snuff: just LEDs are shipping currently and the springs are not in yet? Orders with springs and LEDs will ship after springs arrive? I know it’s in the 300+ comments but would rather ask than reread all of them.

Both types of orders have been shipped.

I think yours have been shipped already.

Oh yeah, maybe I should post pics of the springs.

Got my springs and leds this tuesday. They are awesome. The big springs are indeed much better than the second generation.

Comparison of the second and third generation AgBeCu springs

Much better after compression (Gen 2: compressed, uncompressed; Gen 3: same):

Spring close up, interesting that there are some shiny and some matte parts

The SST20 FD2 have an incredibly nice color rendition and tint, I already build a triple S2+ with them, more to follow.

Can you measure the fully compressed size of big gen 2 and 3?

I dont think I was very clear, though this is good to know. I meant how low can it go, not how much it bounces back to.

Like does it go from ~12mm to 6mm when under pressure.

Got my springs and LEDs in the US yesterday. What light to put those LEDs into? I have an extra FW3A with the Cree 3D in it, I think that is about to change! I will be able to compare the stock SST20 4000k to this new led. I am not unhappy with the stock SST20, but it has not thrilled me either so we shall see. Some springs may end up in the Q8, bet that they will help her out as I never did a bypass on that light.

EDC rotation:
FW1A, LH351D 4000k (second favorite)
FW3A, LH351D 3500k
FW3A, SST20 FD2 4000k
FW3A, Nichia 4000k sw40 r9080 (favorite light!)
FW3A, Cree XP-L Hi 5A3
Emisar D4V2, SST20 4000k
S2+, XM-L2 T6 4C

Sorry guys for the delayed shipping.

I recently got a new full time job at this place:
https://www.lumenpulse.com/

And it delayed shipping by a week.

I’ll start shipping again starting tomorrow.

All orders will be shipped this week.

I haven’t kept on top of this thread and whilst there’s no rush, I was just about to check to see if my order had been posted as lots seem to have got theirs, but you beat me to it. Good to hear your new job is going well and thanks for the update about LED’s.

Not really…

I’ll talk about it later today for why it’s a good job, but not a great job from someone who comes from BLF.
