LOL LOL

I meant 16mm boards as standard. As i presume from the pics this should be OK.

I think not a direct fit:

RRT01 pill OEM or modified can’t take anything larger than 13mm. There’s just no more space. A single E21A won’t survive more than few seconds. The current is almost 3A. I wanted to make a dedicated 12mm quadtrix E17A for RRT01 but decided not to further make it due to several limiting factors. I am working on it, to make it more universal.

As for the moment, I’ll hold anything about RRT01 modification. I just can’t take the driver as is. In my opinion a new driver is a must for this RRT01. I found a good ready to use IC capable of buck, buck-boost, or boost ideal for this RRT01. We’ll see if I have the potential to make an LED driver.

If there are still enough interest for the aluminum pill we can start an interest list for a GB. So far the estimated price I can give for an aluminum pill (with or without MCPCB mounting holes) is $17/pc. It doesn’t come with the extra O-ring, I made an extra O-ring groove behind the rotary dial to make it completely waterproof.

The lack of quadtrix is a let down but I would still be in if you could supply a drop in TIR or light OP reflector that focuses well with a 3535 LED.

12 of different types of TIR samples already on the way. Will report back soon.

Any update on those TIRs? You probably already know but the ones Convoy store sells (Yajiamei I think) fit pretty closely one user reports.

10° = plain, plain center lens
15° = frosted, plain center lens
25° = microlensed (pebbled), convex center lens
30° = frosted, convex center lens
60° = microlensed, convex center lens

Hard to tell but looks like anything 15+ becomes acceptable improvement. Is this stock XP-L? What does center lens mean? Front glass?

Sorry, post edited. I meant some lenses has convex center lens. Yes, those with stock Cree XPL HI. With all TIR lenses, the halo ring disappeared.
Frosted creates more spill than pebbled. Convex center creates tighter more confined beam.

How is the fit? Do they self center? O ring or lens changes?

I think this setup with a 219b/c or lh351d shaved or not would all be nice upgrades with the lighter pill

I just plug them in, some wiggling to center the lens. Almost a perfect a fit (a little centering needed but fairly easy). OEM O-ring and glass lens must be used.

I’d be very interested in a GB for the aluminum pill, if nothing else.

I may have managed to squish the OEM brass pill into a bit of an egg shape when I disassembled the head for an emitter swap. No amount of resquishing will return it to round, and it bothers me every time I unscrew the body.

Still interested. Would like to have Skylumen use a couple for mods to save weight.
