I’m having a problem with my KR1 W2. If everything is tightened down and a battery installed the LED is always on emitting the faintest light possible (much lower than level 1, only visible if looking for it in the dark). I’ve tried cleaning all contacts with alcohol and I don’t feel any burrs on the signal tube or anything. I can usually troubleshoot my own lights but this one has me stumped. Any ideas?
18350 tube? If so, don’t use the strap ring. I made that mistake with similar results.
No, this is with the 18650 tube. I do have an 18350 tube, I can try and see if it happens with the 18350 tube as well.
I have had the simlar issues with my KR1 w2. I have noticed that the tightening of the tail cap / head is pretty temperamental as compared to say the KR4. I still have to Untighten and retighten the the head and tail when changing my battery on the KR1 almost everytime.

I’ve been lurking as a guest for months, but signed up to chip in on the delays. I ordered late November 13th, and just today (Dec. 1st, 8:56 am EST) received the notification email of my order shipping – about 17 days in processing.
Good things come to those who wait – as others have mentioned, there might be shortages of specific components or other reasons for the variance. Considering all the activity after the Reddit post, I’m impressed with how well Hank is managing this.
In case anyone’s wanting to correlate components: KR4 with E21A in 2700K, cyan, stainless steel bezel, matte black 18350 tube, plus a firmware reflashing kit.
Order update for those waiting. I ordered a D4v2 Titanium on Nov 10 and received it today. Fedex shipping. About 3 weeks. Neutral White – XP-L HI V2 5D, 4000K. Also got a clip, a KR4 deep carry clip, 18350 tube. I did not receive the floody optic. Maybe I’ll ask about the optic on my next order.

I’m also considering this exact light. How are you liking it? Is the output as rosy as people say it is?

Don't keep blue bin emitters alive during the golden age of neutral white!
I love it. 4000k seems about right for me, although I have 2700k on order so that might change. It has a rosy tint compared to my SP40 which I thought had the same led, but it makes the SP40 look green. Also it’s heavier than I expected and the copper gets hot really fast.

Glad to hear! Really want to order one now. Was just scared that it’d be still quite yellow. I found Samsung LH351D 4000K too yellow

I would like to see another side-switch mini-thrower for this reason. These double-tube designs are just too hit & miss for me, i’m done with them.
Sorry about the quality of the images, I don't have decent artificial lighting and now that I live in UK I'm bereft of quality daylight with a constant overcast sky day after day.....plus the rain, always raining....
I'm used to carrying a bog standard Aluminium D4V2, with stainless steel bezel and clip and used to its weight, this copper version makes it feel lighter than air.
Weighing in at 172.4g without a battery or clip installed, by comparison the aluminium D4V2 with S/S bezel, clip fitted and battery weighs 78.2g (with battery 125g)
Sadly there are a few issues with the flashlight not matching the lovely photo at the start of this thread with perfectly shiny machined surfaces, mine has surface blemishes where the shiny machined surface has patches of dull, sandblasted like surface finish. My example also came with scratches to the base of the tailcap. Not sure if its worth trying to deal with these issues given the time it took to get this into my hands, just disappointed it does not meet the typical standard I have come to expect from Hank. I will try to capture the blemishes but lacking in decent lighting and no natural light, will try tomorrow.

Looks awesome dude! Don’t worry about the scratches, patina will take over anyways!

Suddenly I don’t see anymore 219c as emmiter option – is it temporary? Or no more nichia?
I just received another D4V2 in the 219C earlier this week. I know 219C has fallen out of favor a bit but I was hoping Hank got a nice tint bin, and my hopes were rewarded. His 219C 4000k quite rosy (not 219b sw45k level but looks very close to sw40), looks identical to the bin Lumintop uses, much nicer than any SST-20 or LH351D I’ve seen.
The only caveat is that 219C does not play nice in a smooth reflector or clear spot optic, it has a bit of a dark spot in the center of the beam when white wall hunting. You need to order it with 10623 optic, I did not but had one laying around and swapped in, fixed the problem.
EDIT: I just realized that Hank might not be able to access the images that we post. Some websites are not accessible from China, including imgur(.)com. Hank might not even be aware that you posted an image, because when you include an image in your post, and the website is not accessible, a browser might not give any indication that your post contained an image.
That’s a great looking light. You can do this with oven cleaner. It will remove the anodizing. I didn’t care for the sand color and used oven cleaner with good results. Unfortunately I had already mechanically removed the anodizing in some areas, and that didn’t turn out so great. If you have access to a lathe you could easily modify the knurled area like that too.
My first version aluminum D4 lights don’t have the same threads as my D4V2 Ti. Does anyone know if the aluminum D4V2 threads are the same as the D4V2 Ti?
Got mine about 4 days ago. 3 weeks from order to delivery. Can’t complain about that really. I usually expect 4 to 6 weeks.
Only complaint I have? It’s really really really really, heavy. Even with the 350 tube on it, it’s really heavy. Don’t know what I was thinking. It was so good looking, my finger couldn’t help but hit the buy button.
The 4000k 219C’s look really nice and of course it operates perfectly and is very well built. I don’t know what to do with it. Too heavy to carry and I’m not much on collecting shelf queens. It’s back in the box for now.

They do look good and agreed, very very heavy. Funny thing is, I thought the aluminium D4V2 was reasonably heavy but now I have a renewed appreciation for it’s low mass in the pocket properties.
Despite its weight I’ve been using the copper D4V2 on dog walks, with it being winter here in UK I appreciate the hand warmer and extended runtime of the copper thermal properties.
I have since put a forced patina on mine using the hard boiled eggs method.

I have been carrying the brass d4v2 all day, everyday for about a month now, since i got it. I don’t know how much heavier the copper is, but ill buy it off you.
EDIT – What emitters does it have? – i see its 4000k nichia 219c
Has anyone received a copper D4V2 yet?
Would you possibly share some photos?

Yeah, I have nichia one (with floody optics), just want one more in a different color
And I certainly agree with you – I like it more than mine sst-20 or lhd351d, because of rosiness and no green tint

Hi all,
For D4V2 with XP-L HI LEDs is there any reason to choose 5A driver over 7.5A?
No, for XP-L HI go with 7.5A.

Bruh, you literally collect flashlights
Guess you’ve not don’t much photography.
Would you happen to have any more pictures? I’ve been on the fence and trying to resist…but that looks good!
Sure - These shots are after the patina treatment, the last shot outside is after a few days of wear.
