Hello, newbie here ! I am looking for a one mode 2.8A or more buck driver that can take Vin range from 6 to 18 volts DC and has provisions for an analog ( rotary potentiometer) for dimming. The only one I found was $28. Any out there for less than that. Physical size must be less than 1 inch (25mm) in diameter. Thanks

I'm sure someone here might know how to take a standard driver like a Nanjg 105, cut one of the traces and solder in a couple wires for a pot. Now that I think of it, why hasn't this been done already? Would be awesome for a Mag conversion to XM-L.
If someone here does know which trace needed to be cut so a remote pot could be added, a good macro photo with some annotations added would be greatly appreciated! 
Will that driver accept the 6 to 18 volt input desired?

Unfortunately not but I still would like to know how for single cell applications. 
I chose that one as an example because it is kind of a standard everyone knows.
Patrick, how about a link to the one you did manage to find? The only ones I know that accommodate potentiometers are limited to a max output of 1A.
The ones I am presently using, and they are really good are the Shark Buck 3A models that can easily tale a 20K pot soldered to the. Takes me a minute or less to do the pot soldering. Why so many drivers out there that have the strobing,SOS modes ??
Can't believe there are so few that can accept a pot.
