I know I’m fairly new around these parts, but the header has always been the same - a BLF X5 (I think?), SRK, and some zoomie I’m too green to identify. Is it time for an update?
I don’t mean to stir up trouble if everyone likes the current header, but it could be nice to see some of the more recent BLF projects (FW3A, GT, A6, Q8) or current budget kings (Convoy, Emisar, etc.) represented. What does everyone else think?

Of course we'll need someone that is good with graphics like TK to put it together.

I can’t remember exactly when it was, but it seems it was within the last couple years it was updated to what it is now. All three of those lights are owned by BLF members, and IIRC they are all modded in some way.
Update the picture of the lights. Let the arguing discussion begin on what lights should replace them! 
I just hope the FW3A makes the cut.

July 2015, IIRC. At least, that’s the date on the file I made for the last logo update. So… 4 years ago.
It shows three lights:
- BLF EE X6
- Original SRK from 2012, modded with a BLF driver
- Red SK-68 modded heavily by djozz
The BLF EE X6 was one of the first BLF-branded lights, back before BLF was doing custom drivers and custom firmware. It wasn’t much different than a regular EE X6, but did at least have a few small changes.
The modded SRK is what the BLF Q8 was originally aiming to be, but the Q8 went beyond that to become even better.
The modded SK-68 goes back even farther, to BLF’s roots and its ideological foundations. It’s one of the cheapest and most common items around, modified quite a bit to turn it into something truly special. It really shows the spirit of modding, the idea that things you customize yourself will be better than anything available commercially.
If the logo is updated, I’d suggest at least keeping djozz’s SK-68. It’s pretty integral to what BLF is about. The other two could be updated to something newer though. Perhaps one item from the annual build competitions, and one item from the big custom group buy projects?
BLF GT and/or FW3A need to be on there.

I guess it wouldn’t hurt to change it. But I’m in no hurry. I like it still. Of course, it is up to Mr. Admin to decide. 
I almost never see it because I have Recent Posts bookmarked and I don't go the our home page very often.
The SK68 is an icon, i used to have one, but my wife borrowed it and lost it, that was an excuse for me to buy a new light, and look where i ended up with, 30+ lights and growing…
I vote for the BLF A6 b.t.w. for the banner, its almost classic nowadays
Is it really a logo? I never thought of it that way. It’s more recent than I thought, but lights change quickly - most users wouldn’t be buying any of those these days, and would be quick to recommend against the latter two.

You’re right, logo isn’t the right word for it.
Anyway, when it was updated, part of the goal was to use items which are visually interesting. It would be simple enough to put a BLF-A6 in there, but it doesn’t look like much. It’s just a tube.
Another design consideration was to try to keep things more or less to scale. That makes it difficult to use the BLF GT, since it dwarfs everything else.
Mostly though, items were selected to represent what BLF is and what it’s about. So I think it should include the major themes here… and a big one is what we make or customize ourselves. Like, personally and individually. The big group projects are important too, but there’s more to BLF than just those.
I was part of the X6 group buy in a big way and then again for the X6-X5… the X6 is my favorite all around light and I have some 15 of them, all modified differently of course. The X6, being an epic proving ground for the power of the forum, should (I think) remain. That said, my 2c worth is now drained…
Edit: now, if I can only think of 16 more things to say, epic will again be addressed…
I was thinking more a collection banner image with like 12 lights, but the 3 makes sense if that’s what we’re going for.
I didn’t realize you made the current one TK, is there anything on BLF you aren’t involved in?
The GT is, well, huge, and not quite “budget”.
The mini or even micro would be more appropriate.
And the Q8 for sure. Kinda embodies that spirit of cheap/bright/good. And moddable.
How many lights wear the BLF badge of honor? It’s an impressive number by now, surely. Wonder if a line-up could made along that line? (The GT’s sheer size indeed poses problems where scale is concerned)
Maybe we should include fourteen of the most popular flashlights on Amazon?

But more seriously, I usually try not to be involved. I just… fail. A lot.
Anyway, yes, I made the image. Two of the lights in it are on my desk right now. I should probably update the firmware on that SRK.
