You can’t say “ I’ll buy the most expensive one and sell it for money to buy other flashlights”, it’s not fun
Also, you can keep using your old flashlight collection.

All of them. I would start my own flashlight museum/theme park
Or is this trick question? If I said FW3A I could only purchase FW3A’s from now on?
I’m pretty content with what I have, the ones I modded I enjoy the most.
My Holy Grail light, Jetbeam TCR-1
.
V11R and V10R Current Mod
Like flightless already mentioned, probably almost all.
There is no holy grail or golden standard light
Emisar D4 or FW3A.
I can’t decide which one but i’m happy with either option. There is always another place for a pocket-able hot rod light now and many years later.
Trick question? If money wasn’t a problem how could anyone buy just one for the rest of their life?
Yes trick question indeed. We have to pick one now, not knowing whats coming in the future. I refuse to answer. Damn you and your sorcery.
"Everywhere I go, there I am"
LED and UI are better every few years.
If you have asked the same question 20 years ago, you would have to choose an incan flashlight for the rest of your life. 15 years ago, a blue low CRI LED flashlight with strobe and SOS, etc.
I’d have one custom built to my spec.
Hand-machined body, hand-built driver, custom firmware, high-CRI LED. The works, basically
TBH, I’ve been pretty happy with a FW3A since late 2017. I haven’t really felt much need to use anything else, except for the times I need a headlamp. If I were to design an ideal EDC-style light, it wouldn’t be much different than what I already have.
FW3AFTW!

yeah, my point is not asking “what is perfect flashlight”, but “which flashlight is perfect for you ?”

maybe Satan suddenly appears in front of you and ask you this question
Forgot my pen
I would consider myself fortunately if that was the only question Satan had for me
Yeah, you could, you even can require Nasa to make a custom light from Moon or Mars rock. No one gonna stops you. But dont regret your choice

All of them are perfect as they all have their own characteristics that make them perfect for a certain situation. Maglites are great throwers. You can throw them against attackers, bringing darkness into light. Other flashlights are good at bringing light into the dark. Depends on what is needed.
Spitzbube.
I would get a team and develop my own light. Control ring like jetbeam with lvp and battery check. Fancy design and hi end materials.
I’d have a Copper version of ALL the torches I own and use.
One off.
Probably a copper vers, Of my Imatent DN35. with DN70 as backup.
They’d do ALL my eyes can see.
There’s not really any need for me to get super spread. Beam.
I can’t physically see that far.
“If money is not a problem” means not “to buy”, but “to costruct” for BLFers.
LEPs are on the rise and have potential to replace the LEDs…but are not there yet.
I’m not sure if there is ever a good time to buy the last light but I’m sure it’s not now.
But if I had to – that would be a custom zoomie. Beryllium body, diamond shelf/PCB, custom optics, EAL7 UI…just all the usual high-end stuff.
Etched nickel-iron meteorite metal and PVD diamond coating it is
I could carry anything that I find right now, life is too short to not carry my favorite now!
SC64W for me!
Cool Fall Tri-V
WTB Titanium 4sevens 2xAA tube
FW3A217RGBM
FW3A with a couple minor tweaks
-at least 10mm shorter
-(with 18650 or more energy level)
-side switch
-longer turbo times
-head same size as body
(probably all impossible)

My choice… would be to buy what I like now the FW3A or D4V2 and then work on finding my favorite led in both. I have 3 of the FW3A’s and they are led testing platforms and one EDC. Once I find the led I want, it will go into the D4V2 as well. I like good budget lights because you can change them often when a better one comes along. But I suspect that these 2 will be with me for a good while!
EDC rotation:
KR4, SST-20 FA3 4000k (favorite!)
FW3A, Nichia 4000k sw40 r9080 (second favorite)
FW1A, LH351D 3500k (third favorite)
FW1A, XP-L Hi 3A
FW3A, LH351D 3500k
FW3A, SST20 FD2 4000k
FW3A, Cree XP-L Hi 5A3
Emisar D4V2, SST20 4000k
Emisar D4V2, brass E21A 3500k (night light of choice)
I would get the FW3A. atm my wallet believes I shouldn’t buy another light I don’t need.
Never had a Cool Fall, but thought a Cool Fall and my HDS rotary as you did.
Why Imalent MS18 R90TS kit keep showing in my head
Collection:
*more incoming
I would buy a GT70. I don’t have any need for it, to justify spending the money out of my “real life” budget, but if money were no object, that’s what I’d get.
