Best higher voltage xm-l drop in?

I'm looking for xm-l drop ins for an L2X extended, and am surprised at the lack of choices. I had read up on them before buying the $15 host, but thought there must be more out there by now, especially with multiple modes. I've found:

Are there better options out there? Are any of them multi-mode?

I like the idea of the longer run time, and am religious about checking voltages before and after charging. I'm worried about heat dissipation with only one mode, though.

You prefer 1 mode only! There are various suppliers with at least 3-5 modes at the same price range.

I'd still be interested in a multi mode, higher voltage dropin. I just get the feeling that the single mode will get too hot. I might want to use it inside occasionally, too.
