This is indeed a grail light! I have been carrying the same and I really cannot rotate it!

The one who snatches this will be very lucky!

another previously undocumented feature of this light:

It has Strobe at double twist to maximum (that I find useful crossing some streets).

On mine it is 3 twists for strobe and three more twists to SOS. Those hidden modes are also on the new 2019 Version RRT01.

Sorry, once on high, it is 2 twists to get to hidden modes. Facepalm

here is how Vinh gets to strobe,
two quick increases in brightness,
does not have to be to maximum, but that is the easy way, to bump to two equal increases

OK I just received the light (technically it arrived yesterday) and has gotten its first use today. Damn it is quite something. The rotary ring is smooth and be easily operated with one hand. The LED can get to crazy low levels. Such an amazing little light.

So uhhh does any manufacturer make anything similar in 18650 or 21700 format?

So glad to hear your positive first impression.

There are some 18650 rotaries, none current production.

Nitecore srt7. No experience

Reports of some people legoing convoy tubes in the wtb rrt-01 thread
Search 18650

Here is a lego someone posted there

I tried a sunwayman v20c, it is 18650, rotary
But it wont lego to my rrt-01

Im still looking for a good 18650 tube option

Sunwayman, jetbeam, and nitecore made rotaries, back around 2012

Not RRT-01 subject but somebody mentioned "why not in 18650/21700 size"

And it's not smooth ramping also...
