The first issue with modifying this torch is the P60 pill, as standard it is designed to use a 15mm driver… not really surprising giving its quite an old design now
The stock pill consists of a 1.5amp buck driver and a dedomed xp-g2 , to be fair to nightmaster this torch throws an incredible beam and the pill design really ensures the emitter is firmly against the pill with that alloy locking ring
To save time machining i decided to turn off the back of one of the existing pills and add a section of 21mm thick wall brass tube , after soldering the two together i then turned a 20mm step into the back off it to accept a 5amp 20mm driver board
You can see that the new pill is quite a bit chunkier at the back now than the original

The next issue is that this new wideboy pill doesnt screw all the way home in the neck section some boring out is required, once this was done i decided to apply a thin layer of thermal paste between the pill and neck section for max heat transfer
