I found this site recently in a search for a bicycle headlight and became enlightened to the power of the Cree. All I can say is 'Wow'. My first LED light is an all-arounder from Shiningbeam: P-Rocket XM-L 530+, http://www.shiningbeam.com/servlet/the-182/P-dsh-Rocket-XM-dsh-L-530-pls--Lumens/Detail
It's a really nice light and a great way to start a new addiction, oops I mean hobby.
With help from lurking here, I purchased a Xtar WP2 II charger from SB Flashlights, and Xtar 2600 mAh 18700 batteries from protacticalshop19 on ebay. I actually got a little charge when I first got a look at the batteries. My first thought was another 'Wow" they're like AA's on steroids.Very cool.
Anyway, right now I'm in a flashaholic fantasy stage...spending happily away in my mind.
Next up will be finding a light for my dad, who seems perfectly happy with an old 3D Eveready Captain and his favorite, a freebie light from Harbour Freight.
...and so it begins...
