Ultrafire UF-H2b 14500s only now?

I was happily using my two UF-H2bs with Duraloops until I got a couple UF-H3s so to even out the brightness I switched to 14500s now only one of the UF-H2bs will work with a Duraloop the other only works with 14500s now. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a low voltage protection setting I accidentally turned on or is the driver cooked? I am going to tear this thing open and mod the it if I can't use Duraloops anymore.

Did you buy same model & at the same time & same place? If not may be different electronics, one survives okay with 14500, one can't. I've heard of lights not being able to go back to AA after using li-ion before because you kill something. (Different electronics obviously possible even if you bought same model same time and same place but less likely.)

I got both of them from the Dino deal so I guess one will never work with AAs again. I will pull the driver out eventually and see what happened. I was hoping someone would chime in and say there was a lion low voltage protection mode I tripped by accident.

Check the tail switch. Mine did the same thing. Switch keeps coming loose.

When I got my H3 it wouldn't even turn on at first. The washer in the tailcap that holds the switch in was loose.

Yeah that magnet has a tendency to loosen it. need good tightening

Not sure why a loose tail cap spring would work with a 14500 and not an AA. To me it sounds like the boost circuit fried and it only works with 14500 now. Not an unheard of occurance with lights that take both AA & 14500.

It is definitely not the tail cap spring although it does loosen up. I swapped the tail caps around with the other light to be sure that was not a problem.
