How can I order these? I am very interested in obtaining at least one of them to try and many more once I see how well it works. Please any help on how to get the brass heat sink would be very much appreciated.

Just got into this hobby/obsession and now this...Sofirn SP36 BLF (Where it all started) - Emisar D4SV2 (XPL HI HD) - Lumintop FW3A - Sofirn SP33 V3 - Astrolux FT02S - Astrolux FT03S (A banger that's for sure, I wasn't a fan but it has grown on me)- Astrolux FT03 Mini (W1 Green) - Fireflies E07(s) x2 (OSRAM 15W & SW45K - Lumintop GT Mini & GT Nano - Acebeam L18 (very small for its range) -  Noctigon K1 (W1 Green) - Noctigon KR1 (W1 Green) & W2 white - Noctigon K4 Nichia 3500k (new favorite tint for indoors) - Fireflies ROT66 Gen2 (XPL HI) - Jetbeam RRT MX1 Raptor LEP (It’s a friggin laser.) And I want more. On top of that I got into lasers recently. So now I'm growing a collection of 1w-5watt lasers.

Hello,

My MF01 is still in delivery so I cannot look inside.

If someone with this flashlight would be willing to remove the battery tube and un-screw the two driver PCB screws then the board can be lifted for a quick picture.

If there is a metal ledge below the board then we can engineer our way round this issue. If there is no ledge then the problem is much harder to solve.

We need to know if the designer left a ledge on the inside of the tube.

Thanks.

“How can I order these?”

At the moment you can’t, as no one is manufacturing them.

I posted a question on the Bangood website asking if the manufacturer is including the driver heatsink with new lights (it’s rumoured they are), but no one has answered as of today and the question has been up for a while. Astrolux have a Facebook page. You could try and send them a message and ask the same question. The other option is to find a machine shop and have a batch made…. Smile

Go onto AliExpress and find the Mateminco page, message them since they’re the manufacturer

Thanks but I already know that. I assume most people do.

It does not change anything, the light is half-baked, it says Astrolux on it and most people posting in this thread purchased from Banggood. Therefore the criticism is directed there, not upstream.

Although Astrolux is merely a “brand” it does not resolve them of their responsibilities.

I’m mentioning this because most are emailing banggood and not asking Mateminco, they have an AliExpress store and are very responsive. Banggood often don’t know a lot as to the status of their lights.

I’ve sent a message to Mateminco via AliExpress. If I receive a reply, I’ll post back.

If anybody does message Mataminco the model number of their version is called the MT07. You might get a quicker response.

Mateminco replied to me.

All new MT07 lights will come with a brass heatsink for the driver board. He didn’t say if MF01 lights would. I’d order from Mateminco if you want to be sure as Bangood don’t seem to know.

Search for ‘Mateminco Store AliExpress’ and Google will take you there.

It’s not possible to order just the brass heatsink from him (I did ask).

If anyone has an MF01 mini, I’d still be interested to see what’s below the driver board…..

So I cannot get one for the MF01 Mini? Anyone still making these? I would love to buy at least one. You name the price.

But according to the above post they said it is not possible to just get the plate. Let’s hope Bangood can make them available if Mateminco isn’t willing to.

Everyone who bought one of these – whether branded Astrolux or Mateminco – should get the heatsink for free. They made a product with a design flaw that 10 minutes of testing would reveal.

They can say it’s not a flaw. How can you prove it’s a flaw? The light works as described. They never specified a run time using 7135 only. So calling it a flaw is just a persons opinion. It seems to be a common opinion and an add-on piece was made to make it better. So they are not under any obligation to send out a bunch of plates for free.

Of course they are not “obligated” to do it. And of course they won’t actually do it. They can say whatever they want.

I am talking about right and wrong, maybe you are aware of this concept? They messed up and sold a piece of junk, and it was up to members of the community to figure out what was wrong and to fix it … at not-inconsiderable expense. Now they copy that fix for new lights but do absolutely nothing for the thousands of customers who already bought it.

If they had any concept of right and wrong, any respect for the customer, or any pride in the quality of their work, they would send these heatsinks out to anybody who wanted one. But you are right, they won’t, because selling crap and not standing over it is the Chinese way.

You never should buy light or anything else without waiting reviews first. Pig in a poke like saying goes. Getting hustled is more like a universal way these days.

I guess you should be looking at the cheap prices and compare to the big brands. Sometimes these things do happen, at least it wasn’t an expensive issue. Annoying yes, but for a cheap manufacturer to send out free parts is a big ask.

I’m sure they will sell those heatsinks separately if there is enough interests on those. It has happened with atleast lenses before. They got tired of everybody asking and just listed those. Patience and we will see what happens.

No such thing. It’s all subjective. Like you said, it’s a concept. Kind of like veganism. Is it right or wrong to eat meat? Different people have different ideas on the subject.

It is nice to see them trying to make improvements on their product, though.

You sound a bit racist when you say the “Chinese way” as if that whole group of people think the same way. You are on a slippery slope with that kind of talk. BLF is an international forum and we have members from all over the world. Let’s keep things civil.

One solution could be an interest list-thread about those heatsinks. Enough names and then asking manufacturer if they would like to make some sales. I’m sure we can work this out if there is enough community spirit aka cooperation. I dont really need one or have experience making these happen, but shouldnt be that hard?

Everybody who designs and manufactures a product, eventually has to test a prototype. To ensure all functions work, to write spec sheet etc. Immediately upon testing this, they will have realized there is a problem with premature stepdown. It is impossible that they did not realize it.

At this point they have two choices:

1) Investigate the problem and rectify it
2) Say “who cares” and ship the product anyway

When they choose #2 it means they have no respect for the customer, no pride in their workmanship. There is nothing subjective about that.

Your defense of this behavior is baffling.

I think the biggest issue is that they’ve been encouraged to use a firmware (anduril) they haven’t designed themselves, so the level of testing and knowledge of how it’s meant to behave is not the same.

Has there been a design flaw with models where they’ve used there own UI?

I like this light a lot. It has a lot of nice features. Compact, attractive design/look, multicolored aux leds that also double as a battery status indicator, rather high output, high CRI if you want it and USB charging. For what little i’ve used it, it worked well, but i haven’t pushed it much.

Sorry to ask but when or how does “the premature stepdown problem” arise?

It not when using Turbo or a low output, it’s when your using a med-high output where all the 7135 chips are going full blast. Like around the max ramp level (assuming the stock max ramp has not been changed).

You need to upload it to a hosting website and then copy and paste that link into this thread. More info here.

Does it look the same as the one Lexel posted?

I just picked one up two weeks ago from Banggood. Got it the other day. Still the version without the brass heat spreader. Hope they sell it as an extra part one day.

Are all of these lights supposed to come with AUX LEDs in the lens? I just received mine from Banggood and I think they may be dead. I do see the four pots under the lens but turning them in either direction does nothing. A few of them even spin indefinitely.
