Lumintop YIP25 crimson red

Recently I got a little into red LEDs. This is my latest build which was easier than I expected.
Host: Lumintop YIP25 is a great and very mod friendly host. I’m not going to describe it here since Narmattaru already did a great job in this post . Enough to say there is no glue used, the pill has reverse-thread, LED mcpcb is d=12mm with extensions to 14mm (which can be cut/filed).
The LED itself comes from Polish distributor, it’s ProLight PK2N-3LME-HSD 3W Crimson Power LED it was reflowed to an original mcpcb

Some pictures:

The “crimson” is not that crimson as one might expect. Yes, it varies a little from XP-E2 620nm but not that significantly. Furthermore I was expecting it to be way less intense than 620nm… and my observation is that this LED gives a lot of red light within visible scope. Actually I’m even wondering if it’s really so 650-660nm as DS claims…

Check it for yourself:

And in comparison to 3x XP-E2 620nm (right) white balance set to 5000K

Nice build!
I still have a couple of those PK2N leds in various colours including crimson red, bought them from TME which I think is Poland based. They have great output not that different from Cree colour leds. One of the leds is 420nm, still want to try that in a S2+ one of these days.

Thanks, nice guessing :sunglasses:
I also did buy some other colors and tints of red. Waiting to try out cyan…
These actually come from Maritex, but I use TME as well but I miss the variety of mouser or arrow.
