This is a high capacity and high current 18350 battery.
The two cells tracks nicely up to 5A, the battery is rather strained at the 7A test.
Conclusion
The cell has good capacity, but the high current is a well below the highest current 18350 cells. When used below 5A it is a good cell with top capacity.
Thank you for the test. I think purple (2019) is still a better choice (or Shockli which is still better than new purple). According to your tests, the capacity is almost the same, but they maintain a higher voltage.
The purple is lower capacity, but higher current (Even though they are marked 1100mAh). There may also be a price difference between them (I have not checked).
This is a new cell (probably) manufactured by BAK. Its continuous discharge rating looks like 5C or 5 A, given the shape of its discharge curves and corresponding strain as HKJ points out.
That's history already. Vapcell changed their rating for a reason (old purple versus purple 2019). The “old purple” was likely manufactured by the same OEM than the original Aspire 1100 mAh, and the later one probably too (maybe it was manufacturing cost optimized).
Probably not the correct message thread to post about the following question…
Since the old purple Vapcell 1100mAh 18350 with 10A rating doesn’t seem to be available now, the original Aspire 1100mAh 18350 is also discontinued…. does that mean the Keeppower “1200mAh” 18350 and the Shockli 1100mAh 18350 are the only ones still using similar 18350 as the original Aspire 1100mAh 18350?
Or is it likely that the Keeppower 1200mAh 18350 and Shockli 1100mAh 18350 are also now using different cells internally? (it’s probably not possible to know for sure, but maybe someone has an idea about this?)
