Astrolux MF01 Mini 21700 batt supercharge

For the Banggood Astrolux MF01 in the Specs area, it recommends using 21700 batteries for full output. “Flux: 5,500 lumen ( up to 6100 lumen actually with samsung 30T 21700 )”. Is that an error? I thought a 26650 batt will give the most output?

I thought there were issues with a 21700 even fitting, and being damaged squeezing them in?

my mf mini is on its way soon so i cant say, but i dont think its a problem since it comes with a 21700 tube, its more of a personal preference, but i can imagine a 30t will give most output, but if u want longer runtimes use a 5000mah 26650 maybe.

Samsung 48G works fine for me.

Nice! I’ll try it out when if gets here.

I tried with black liitokala 26650 and yellow 21700, it’s strange but yellow 21700 gives a much higher brightness, maybe because it is longer and compresses springs more

A Samsung 30T works fine. They are said to be one of the batteries with the lowest internal resistance around for up to 35A. The rear spring is long and has lots of tolerance to fit unprotected 21700 batteries. Actually the two springs can compress full way down to the PCB until they are almost flat.

The golden Golisi 26650 should be similar to the 30T. Most other 26650 can do only 20A.

nah its because 21700 packs more power eventho they are smaller, the litokalas are max 20 amps or something where a 21700 can go 35amps highest…

I will test when i get the light if my efest highdrain 26650 or samsung 40t gives most output…

Samsung 40t 21700 seems to give the best output in mine.

Golisi Gold wrap 35amps 26650

isnt that just a wrapped samsung cell ?

Not from my knowledge. From what I have seen based on tests posted in the forum, the Golisi is the best high output 26650 that actually hits 35amps. You can probably do a search in the forum to find the testing and results.

The only way to know if inserting a 21700 would cause any permanent shortening of the springs is to first test the lumen output with a 26650. Then insert a 21700 cell, tighten, and reinstall a 26650. If the output does not decrease, then that means the 21700 did not crush the springs. I’ve crushed many springs in many different flashlights by using protected cells or longer cell types. Without a lumen measurement device, I wouldn’t realize there was damage done but if measured, you will see output loss can be quite significant from springs being pushed in too far.

oh my bad i thought u were talking about 21700… samsung doesnt make 26650 duh :person_facepalming:

Mine too
