Peron: The Olight Bait&Switch Head Lamp

The Peron should be re-named the Olight Bait&Switch head lamp.

The function of turning it on/off, with a wave of your hand, was demonstrated by Olight, at O-Fan Day 2019.
But then they released the Peron without that function, and never told anyone they removed it.

I bought a blue Peron, specifically for that function, and I am considering returning it.

I have two H2R’s, and I wanted the hands-free, on/off function, of the Peron.

I also purchased the Peron/Head Band bundle, because I didn’t want to worry about H2R head band compatibility, with the Peron on/off hand wave function. Since it required the Peron to be installed into the head band magnetic holder, for the on/off hand wave function to be activated.

Without that function, the Peron is a downgrade from the H2R, in my opinion.

This just adds to my recent disappointment with Olight, such as my disappointment with the M2R Pro release.
The fact that it will ONLY function with an Olight proprietary battery.

I was willing to overlook their proprietary battery use in their other lights, since I could still use a non-proprietary battery, if I were willing to give up the internal charge capability.
But not the M2R Pro. Once it’s proprietary battery is no longer manufactured, it becomes a paper weight.

I got youtube reviewer, Jujitsu2000, to admit that he was told by Olight, that the on/off wave function was removed. But yet his videos of the Peron did not mention the removal, or existence, of that feature.

So, since Jujitsu2000 admits to being told by Olight,Read Jujitsu2000 admit it in comments here of the removal of this function, other youtube Olight reviewers must have been told as well. But yet, NONE of them mentioned it even existing, let alone it being removed, on any of their youtube reviews of the Peron.

Had any of them mentioned the removal of the function, I would not have purchased it.

But that is the just the very reason, Olight was worried about, had they mentioned it.

They could have delayed the release of the Peron, until that function was perfected, but greed got in the way.

As it is, the Peron is just a dimmer, “child-proof”, H2R head lamp. With a bigger battery, and an optional head band.

Also notice Sean/Olight never mentions the hand wave on/off function, in this video, that was released just hours before the Peron went on sale for the first time. POS Peron

Sean/Olight could of at least mentioned the fact that the on/off function, demonstrated at O-Fan Day 2019, had been removed.
