Acebeam H40 219b swap not good with alkalines

I swapped the stock sst20 4000k emitter with a 219b sw40 d200 emitter.

It performs nicely with 14500 batteries, but I haven’t let it run until it shuts off. With alkalines, however, it triggers low voltage shut off at 1.31 volts, after about 30 minutes of high run time. A used battery with 1.2 volts shuts off after a few minutes. This is moderately disappointing because the headlamp runs longer on nimh and alkaline batteries.

I think its because I changed the emitter, but perhaps soldering the wires onto the mcpcb put heat somewhere else. I might live with it, change the emitter to something else, or be able to perform some very basic modification if I can be guided in that.

I might also take this H40 completely apart if someone wants to see it or work on it. I’d like to see it get reworked with a different UI and switch.
