This is a once off small run of (20 off) these. I sent a couple of these to a member a little while back and have since had a few people pm me asking for more.

Made from soft 5052 aluminium. Since these were made on a manual machine there is some variation between pieces. I lightly fitted each piece to my own fw3a and measured the distance from the button to the top of the cap. That'll be the numbers (in millimeters) you see in the pic above. After pressing/tapping the cap on you will lose ~0.2mm but YMMV. If you don't not specify what you want then I'll pick at random. In a day or so, it'll be difficult for me to edit the pic and cross off the ones taken so I might keep a list if it gets confusing.

Below pic is the difference between 1.25mm and 2.62mm. My thumb easily touches the button of the shallow cap. I'm guessing the shallow ones might be better for those that have done the o-ring mod but are still not satisfied...?

Care must be taken when installing these as they do not automatically sit straight and level. A large vice with parallel jaws would make it easy to install but if not my method is to place the cap on a bench, sit the light on it and make sure it's vertical then give it a light tap with something (you can protect the bezel with a bit of wood or plastic etc....). For a more secure fit you can try adding a little glue though I haven't felt the need to.

The 1-2 members that already have one of these are welcome to comment, good bad or otherwise.

Is the switch assembly glued in the tail cap?
(is that why you’re looking for a solution on the outside?)

No not glued. I did my first mod like this in September just before the o-ring mod became a thing. I haven’t tried the o-ring mod because I felt comfortable with this.
