problems with fireflies e07 using acebeam 21700 batt

my e07 works fine with an 18650 (with spacer). nothing happens when i insert my acebeam 21700 batt. is there some trick to using a 21700 with the e07? i tested the voltage and the 21700 has juice. the acbeam 21700 is 3.7v and 20A (5100mAh). thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Isn’t the Acebeam 21700 a protected battery? So maybe it’s a bit too long and the tailcap is not making electrical contact with body?

yes, it is protected. maybe that is the issue. do you have any suggestions as what a good 21700 would be to use in my e07? mpre importantly, i guess i need to avoid any protected batts for the e07?

Well the 21700 is by default 5 mm longer than an 18650, so generally you could get into trouble using protected 21700 batteries in a light that also accepts 18650 cells. I don’t use 21700 cells, so I cannot give you advise. You can check out Fireflies E07 threads using the search function, where no doubt people discuss different cells they use.
