[4K Review] ASTROLUX HL01 Headlamp - It has everything!!!!

Astrolux have thrown everything at this light!

Ah good, now I don’t need to read the instructions on mine

Forgot to mention it works off a power bank and whilst charging. Which is always nice.

Thanks for the review. So headlamps have gone all fancy too now  They are not for me because my girlfriend will leave me if she sees me wearing one, but I see how handy they can be.

As usual,beautiful review!
I canceled my sst20 couple of day ago.Very happy I made that decision after seeing your video.
The xpl is much to throwie for me and I assume that the sst20 has even more throw.
I’m not a fan of right angle throwers
I find it also to big, with 18350 tube it is still a little bit taller then pl47

Have one on the way for work…but wondering if it’ll be too heavy with an 18650 on a hardhat

It’s smaller and lighter than it looks but it’s pushing it as an headlamp

Good luck trying to see through the beam that originates from close to your eyes.
Especially with some mist / fog / dust in the air…

As for this particular light, it’s quite ugly (i.m.h.o.).

Hahaha, thought I was the only one reminded of that whenever I see this light.

Guess I’ll order some 18350s

Hi Flashaholics,

did you try HL01 with 18350s? Mine doesn`t work with Sofirn, Thrunite or Keepower 18350s. When tailcap is tighten all the way, headlamp will not turn on, but when tailcap is just bearely tighten the light does work. It seems to me that there is problem with contact in tailcap.

I used an Ampsplus 1150mAh 18350 and all was well

Yeah if you look in the groupbuy thread for this light there are a lot of people with dented batts and such. it seems the 18350 tube was machined a little too short for some reason.

Astrolux have done this multiple times, they are clowns and I don’t know why people continue to pre-order their junk

Nice review, as always!

Do you have a more detailed version of the runtime graph from the video that you would be willing to share?

Nope, I just tend to measure turbo in the default thermal limit setting.

I probably would test complete runtime and voltage cutoff point if I could review full time!

can you please measure the Amps on turbo?

I no longer have the light. I don’t tend to measure amps as it it’s a false reading of output, especially if there’s a nasty spring.

measuring amps is imho a easy way to double check your results...

I get 4,4 Amps and ~1200 Lumen which nicely fit together
