Really interested in buying the regular sized LT1. Planning on using for night fishing. Debating if two minis would be better than one large?

Then I wonder if there is plans for a LT1 jumbo edition? Something with 3 or 4 25650s would be epic!

I won’t be purchasing till spring so I got time.

There’s the plan to develop a 4× 21700 LT1:

I still hope for these two models (wishful thinking, of course):
  • LT1R – three-channel version (deep red – 2700K – 5000K)

  • LT1Max – 4-6× 21700 with PD charging (12V 3A), significantly larger head and > 1.200lm

That is planned, for the LT2. four 21700 capability, with power bank, 3rd red LED channel.

Please put me down for 8 of these.

My brothers & nephews love to camp so they should like these I think.

I just learned of this project from a dear friend, so I joined BLF to participate; as well as hopefully learn a bit more about flashlights in general. They seem somewhat complicated these days.

OP Updated, Aug,17,2021

Some news for everyone interested in this LT1-Mini project! The team is well underway with the design & development of the BLF/Sofirn LT1-Mini! While DBSAR has been going through a big move & life’s change, he is slowly getting re-settled in a new home, and getting back into work of things on these lantern projects. In this case, LT1 team member Lux-Perpetua have stepped in to really help push this project forward with a finalized design for the mini LT1 lantern. Barry of Sofirn is with us 100% on the team to get this into testing phase and production soon!

Best post in thead, best wishes for DBSAR and team.

Hope the move is going well.  I appreciate the team moving this project forward.

I really like my LT1 so, the mini would be a welcome addition.

Count me in as seriously interested depending on final features and configuration but, it certainly looks good to me at this point.

I just got here, have some interest, looked at OP and last couple pages but can’t really tell the current design phase or the goals. Is it too late to ask for specific features? 1) include a timing crystal on the board, so that the light can accurately turn itself on at a particular time; 2) include some kind of external connection. A computer port might be too fancy but a simple pair of contacts that are in parallel with the pushbutton switch would allow operating the light remotely and this would be a win, both from being able to use the lantern as a room light and for configurating Anduril from a computer.

There is at least 1 other thread asking for lights that turn on at sunrise, so multiple people definitely want a timing feature, the crystal is maybe a 5 cent part, and unlike a flashlight I hope the lantern is not terribly cramped for PCB space. So I support including it.

Has the CPU been chosen and what will it be? Will the lantern have enough heat sinking / radiators to be able to run long periods at 1000+ lumens without getting too warm? (A lantern should do that, it is not a flashlight after all). Will it be able to run on external power instead of battery power? Maybe at this point it becomes a lamp instead of a lantern, but I haven’t been able to find any programmable lamps with high CRI. Thanks!

Interested in 1! Just got the big brother LT1 and it’s the first lantern I’ve ever seen that actually lights without blinding. Amazing through and through. I’m excited for this mini version!

Definitely interested!

Put me down for 5, please (I have nieces and nephews who like my LT1 and would get a kick out of owning a mini version!)

Please add me to the list for quantity (FOUR) lights. Every BLF light I’ve purchased has been a smashing success and I’m sure this project will be no different.
