Have we worked with the outdate tech for charging ?

Hi Bros,
A long time I have not come back this site and I’m a bit surprised that a lot of people still care about the charger with QC 2.0, QC 3.0 or even 24W, 36W charger…etc
Sooner or later, we should care about the new tech charger like SamSung, Oppo have worked: 15W, 25W, 45W (fast, faster, super fast charger).

Forget 5V 2A or 5V2.4A, we will go with the new tech like 12v+, 5v 4A or more to increase the SPEED of charging process.
BUT I did not see any test about the new charger like that, have we worked here with the outdate tech of charger ?

To people who has considered to purchase the new NORMAL charger (QC 2, 3 or event 5V 2.4A, 3A…), the current requirement is depend on your phone, even you use a 5V-2A+ charger to your phone, if your phone just accept 1A, the current charge also just got 1A from the charger no more.

Maybe you can buy a charger of the kind you like to be tested and send it for testing to HKJ Wink

You are a flashaholic if you are forced to come out of the closet, to make room for more flashlights.

I only test USB compatible chargers, as far as I remember oppo do not qualify for that (Requires special cables and connectors).

I just checked their website, they make it very difficult to test their charges or use them for anything else: “With end-to-end encryption, the SuperVOOC Car Charger identifies compatible devices for the safest, maximum charging speed and intelligently adjusts.”

My website with reviews of many chargers and batteries (More than 1000): https://lygte-info.dk/

Is super fast charging good for my batteries life expectancy.

My phone normally lasts a full day.

I have enough spare batteries for my flashlights that I don't need to charge them over 1A

I usually charge slowly while I sleep.

There are a lot of reviews for USB Chargers with QC or PD:

Propietary or “closed source” technologies have no chance of becoming widespread. In this respect, Oppo/OnePlus and others alike mean nothing to most people.

“5V 2.4A” or QC 2.0/3.0 is fine for my needs.

Deleting a just published post causes the forum thread answer notification to fail. Thus, if you need to change your just published post, edit it. Thanks.

Please avoid fully quoting lenghty posts, namely with nested quotes. Trim quotes down to the essential. Helps with neatness and legibility. Thanks.

So is the OP asking about charging technologies for just phones?

I use a Pixel 2 so I try and get chargers that support USB Power Delivery. I can also use it for my iPhone 8 with a USB-C to lightning cable.

USB-C is slowly replacing microUSB especially for flagship phones but there is still very budget phones with microUSB. Also there are many accessories and peripherals that still use microUSB. I expect that USB A and C will coexist for a long while.
