Problem with xtar wp II

So I ordered this charger a month ago and finally got some hi max 18650 protected batteries and ultrafire unprotected. I put two new batteries that measured 3.9 v on the charger. I switched the charger to the two setting. The left bay turned green so I took it off and it measured 4.17 I checked the other battery which the light was still red and it was at 4.20. Soni took it off and put tbatter battery that was charged in the left bay and it stilstatues red. Put the battery measuring 4.20 in thelefty charger and it turned green. Am I doing something wrong or is it the charger.

Normal charging voltage is 4.16/4.17volts. Sometimes it helps to charge on number 1 setting if the batteries are of different make, or of different voltage when placed in the charger. I think if one battery is half empty and the other is nearly full, for example, the battery drawing heavy charging current creates some sort of earth loop condition, which slightly affects the termination voltage on the other cell. number 1 setting helps a lot to stop this. I normally charge on 1 overnight if of different cells or 2 if they are a matched pair, such as for a 2x18650 light. The batteries often read within 5mv of each other which is really a very good balance. So i dont think you are doing anything wrong because mine does the same kinda thing, its a good charger in my opinion, I wouldn't be without it.

Yup, +1 for Major ;)

It has "individual" charger bays, but that is not 100% exact, that's why you see some little fluctuations in V. If you want 100% individual charger, you'll need to buy 2 chargers, lol

Whateva, it's not your fault and this is normal thing, no problem with your charger ;)

Does it do it consistently? i.e one is always 4.20V?
Try using the battery for a few seconds on a light then check the voltage again.
