Convoy L6 *New One wit 70.2*

Hey is it safe to assume that the new Convoy L6 with XHP70.2 is the best most powerful bang for the buck flashlight now? Like would fellow members rate it in the top 3?

XHP70.2 tint shift sucks.

Oh I meant to mention it’s the 4000K one. Would it be in the top 3 now?

Depends on the price, it is a rock solid, good light, but i wouldnt pay 59 dollar for it, it could be had for around 40 or so.

Yes, there is tint shift on all Cree emitters, and the XHP70.2 suffers from it as well.
I can live with it though, it is not as bad as the XPL2 Wink

So, this is better than the FT03 and The Fireflies E07? I really want to know if this is better than those two.

I believe the older one had XHP70 and the new one has XHP70.2.

I have the 70.2 (just bought it recently) and I gotta tell you the tint shift is utterly horrible to the point I wish someone made a quad pill to swap it out with.

I think L6 only comes in 2×26650. Unless you know something we don’t know. Muhahahaha Big Smile

Classic XHP70As for the win, no XHP70Boo units please LoL! Big Smile

Hope Cree learns this lesson, the optical characteristics of the present generation of emitters leave to be desired. A 3rd generation, with packed dies and good optical characteristics (consistent tint and etc.) is needed. I would also love if they were to raise their bar in color rendering fidelity or spectral power distribution accuracy.

Right now it is (depending on the LED and tint) around 60€.
So with the 15% BLF discount that is 51€ (+- 55 usd)

I replaced the old driver with new one with more power. But tailswitch is now only a standby button. I really liked the on of tail and modes on the side.

Maybe the new Convoy M26C with XHP70.2?

It should be pretty decent with a DC-Fix, maybe with the XH70 5A which should have a rosy tint.

In terms of quality, yes. In terms of throw, no. Distance is more on the FT03.

To get a higher output, the resistor mod is a common feature on the L6.
Search around on BLF for instructions (Jason made multiple threads on the L6)
