At 3 inches it’s a 3 lobed beam pattern, at 24” it’s already too wide to see lobes unless focusing with your peripheral vision. This is with the camera and the light both at about 24” but the room isnt 100% dark

You can also simply remove your optic to get an idea

Please note that removing the optic alone can be very risky on many lights where the MCPCB is not secured to the shelf with screws (the FW3A in particular is known for this issue). The LEDs can fail to maintain good contact and cook themselves rapidly. This is actually why Ozythemandias’s product is very useful!
