Hmmmm, happy for the “late” activity as I should have been easy to beat in this one , but thanks for letting me crawl across the finish line uncontested. I’ll have to think for a minute to come up with a topic…
Killing the crew (shown hiding their fear in their diapers below) would likely lead to yet another NASA clean-out, re-organization, budget cuts, and a huge cost to SpaceX in lost contracts plus a devastating hit to their reputation after allowing the public to see them blow up 3 of their next-generation prototype water towers rockets in a row and catch the 4th on fire.
So, despite the minimal impact the mission has to Space Station (ISS) operations (basically more mouths and lungs to feed and body odor to enjoy), the effective importance to NASA and SpaceX is really beyond anything that’s happened since the post-Columbia Shuttle relaunch. The last Shuttle mission was way back in 2011 when America somehow didn’t commonly have people with AR-15’s and tactical gear touring their state capitol buildings.
One of the Demo 2 astronauts was on that flight, so he’s 9 years older and now uses a walker to get around (kidding). The other was only a toddler at the time (kidding again), but still wears the same brand of diaper (unsure).
In honor of this occasion, which I feel rather strange about considering that other nations still send people to space routinely while we are making a huge deal out of it simply because we haven’t done it in a decade, let’s see images of humans in space.
While real photos are preferred, any interesting images of men or women in space or in space ships are acceptable.
The following photo was not taken in space, but these are the guys hoping to not blow up on Wednesday. If they’re lucky, maybe you’ll get a last-minute entry of them in space and still intact, but I suppose we should avoid photos of them in pieces should something unplanned occur:
(I’m being silly, of course, as the real risk to the crew is minor; this design is to the Space Shuttle what a parked Volvo is to a 1961 Corvair that just crossed into the rim of the Grand Canyon by air)
Personally, I think these suits look like they were found in the wardrobe bin from a bad sci-fi film involving space sharks, but so long as they do their job of keeping their insides on the inside then I doubt the astronauts will complain… you probably can’t cross your fingers or toes while wearing a space suit, but good luck guys.
They’ve announced that they’ll be landing a woman on the Moon in 2024, but I notice that they still found some gullible males to first test a manned capsule built at the lowest bid by Elon Musk’s rocket company .

“Man, why does this idiot keep making Moby Dick-long posts to a thread titled ‘Image Boss’? Does he not understand the concept? His brain must have been left disconnected or something.”
Well, the astronauts didn’t get to blow up blast off on Wednesday. It turned out the the poor weather was going to disrupt SpaceX and NASA’s ability to disguise the flatness of the Earth in their video feeds. Pointless conspiracies sure are a lot of work to maintain!

And it was taken on the Moon, right? Geesh, people sure are gullible. And I’ll bet you think the Earth is round, too .
Some nice entries, but northbeard is the winner! Take it away, friend.
We’ll close with a picture of Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space (that we know of):

I have felt a Saturn 5 lifting off. If they didn’t go to the Moon, they sure as hell went somewhere in a hurry!
So, show me that the Earth is flat. Photos or artwork will be great. Original content would be ideal!
I’m not a fan of conspiracy theories, but flat-earthers are kinda funny (because they’re so silly.)
Souichirou gets an honourable mention for the Discworld, and G0OSE gets one for excellent use of the expression ‘flat Earth’ but, I have to give it to raccoon city this time – who’d‘ve thought it would make TV news…
Tv sports presenter turned raving loonatic David Icke – this was so bizarre, I remember it well – one day he’s doing sports, next day he’s in the headlines for being raving mad! very weird.
Only one entry...

Ok. Weather permitting, two U.S. astronauts are hoping to successfully launch to space on Wednesday, 27 May 2020 at 20:33:33 UTC on a mission innocuously-named “Demo 2”.

If I were a bit better at photoshop, I could have flown on the space station too…….

Does this count ?
I was thinking of that...
I read the first Discworld book and didn't like it.

For the record, I suspect that all such images are fake and just part of a meme, but it’s still funny…

I'd like to see images related to conspiracy theories (other than the flat earth one).
