Regulated driver at max 4.8A. Lights will undergo 24hrs test before shipping.

Can you confirm what djozz asked before?

Is this the same driver that is in the Noctigon KR1?

Anyone know how much this thing throws? BG product page says 860m but is it true (white LED)?

Apparently this light does not have Anduril. No AUX LEDs either.

What is the colour temp for the orange one? 2500K? Is it good as fog light?

1) No.

2) "860m" should be for green. White could be 5XXm?

3) My mistake for including AUX and Anduril in the title. I have already fixed.

From the pics of the beamshots, green looks like the best thrower, which makes sense from the NM1 specs and other tests/rating comparisons of the white and green.

What you comprehend as best thrower colour also can be explained by which colour is the easiest for the human eye to process.

Ok, but Look at the K1 W1 green throw ratings, compared to W1 white.

And Maxtoch Archer W1 based light here.

I wonder if the sensitivity of the Lux meter being used is also going to influence the measurements. I have no idea how different colors will be interpreted by it.

This also explains why car fog lights are yellow. They are not allowed to be red, green or blue, because of the traffic lights. And they don’t want all kinds of different fog light colours in the traffic like pink, cyan, violet, turquoise etc. Therefor the improvised standard for fog lights is yellow (3000K). So for a flashlight to be used as a fog light outside the traffic, red, blue and green may still be the best, as these correspond to the red, green and blue receptors in the eye.

Also with the best luxmeter you will find that this green led is a significantly better thrower than the white version, for an explanation see here: http://budgetlightforum.com/node/66611

djozz - is the OP still accurate? Another words, the green LED could be driven at it's max of ~7 amps and without issues?

I was thinking this, and the 4.5 amp NM1 drivers everyone wants for white is not desirable for the green version, if you want max amps and output of course. So this further confuses the lumens and throw of green - clearly at the same amps, it's better, but compared at their peak amps the green is way better. Then again, looking at lumens, the difference from 4.5 amps to 6.5 amps isn't that great really. maybe ~10%

I assume it is accurate. But I always test one led. This was a sample that came directly from Osram (via TheOnlyDocc) but I see no reason why it would be any different from the ones that are in these flashlights.

What are the numbers for orange, throw (kcd, meters) and output (lm)?

To avoid confusion in model specs for new buyers,

we have created another FT03 mini NM.1 thread for further discussion.

What kind of battery are people using here? On Banggood there is the option to buy with a Samsung 30Q (button top) included, so I guess a 30Q would work well. However, if I look at NKON, the Sony / Murata US18650VTC6 3000mAh – 30A has more and better reviews, and has a 30A rating instead of 15A. Would this Sony indeed be a good option for the FT03 mini? And if so, would it make a difference whether I choose a button top or flat top model?

Oh, and what 18350 batteries are people using? On Banggood it only reads that it needs to be an unprotected one:

Quote:
unprotected 18650 recommended, and must use unprotected 18350 battery.

Samsung 30q and Sony vtc6 are actually both rated at 15 amp continuous. So they are pretty much equivalent to each other. No real difference there.

The driver uses a button instead of a spring on it so I’m guessing you would need a battery with a button top. Maybe an owner can comment on whether a flat top cell will work or not.

Thanks. I will go for a button top 18650 then. This is in line with one of the links on 1thedeals ,which brings you to a button top 18650 battery.

Interestingly enough, one of the other links on 1thedeals directs to a flat top 18350 battery.

FT03-Mini does have a “button” for positive side, but based on my test, LG HG2, Sony VTC6 or even the recessed flat-top Samsung 30Q works properly (BG does have an option where they bundle the FT03-Mini with a regular flat-top Samsung 30Q).

I tried bumping the flashlight too with a flat-top Samsung 30Q inside, and the light did not “stutter” (no disconnection from bumping), so the tailspring does it job well.
