Tmart has the Uniquefire XG-V3 (Gatlight clone) for $40! Not a bad price on a very sweet light. I bought mine at DX when they had it on special for $38 ($56 normally). They only had a few and sold out quick at that price. Here's a chance to get one for anyone that missed out.
I replaced all the perimeter LEDs on mine with clear white and it's one of my favorite lights. Super sexy and useful!
Was it difficult to do the LED swap?

The original claims to be totally waterproof - is this one? Somehow I doubt it.
The LED swap wasn’t the easiest thing to do but not the hardest either. Just take your time and be very careful around the traces. It will take a bit of time to do properly but it’s well worth it in the end.
As for waterproofing, no. The original got it's perimeter glow not from 5mm LEDs but from an exposed TIR lens. There are GOTD o-rings everywhere (all the standard flashlight places) on the clone but all are pretty much rendered pointless by the 5mm LEDs not being sealed off. Splash-resistant, perhaps, but I would never dream of using this torch in inclimate weather based on principle. It's quite the work of art.
Switch out the disco colored LED's for white and you have an extremely practical table light in a power outage or just for ambiance that will run a good long time. It's actually ridiculously bright for an XP-G when used in normal situations. Add in fully adjustable ramping for just the right amount of light and you have a winner. It's extremely heavy and feels great in the hand. What this light is really for is the WOW factor and that it does in spades!
I've always liked the looks of that light, just never figured out what the heck I would actually do with it.

Same here. Looks incredibly cool, but not really useful. Not enough reflector to be a true thrower, and its going to be inferior to all the new XM-L 1x18650s.
