Looking for a replacment for Thorfire S70s flashlight

Hello,

Recently I lost my thorfire S70s flashlight on a camping trip. When i tried to look into getting a replacment I found out that virtually all of Thorfire’s products are out of stock and as far as i can tell they are out of buisness. I want to know if there still ways to aqquire thorfire flashlights and if not what would be a good alternative that has a similar or the same design as the S70s and serves the same purpose as a thinner long handle high power thrower at a similar price range. Additionly If anyone is still selling Thorfire S70s lights please let me know

Hi Bigfloodfan, and welcome to BLF!

Maybe you want to take a look at the Sofirn SP70! :+1:

sorry to hear you lost a light.
Also terrible to hear Thorfire is out of business? I had tons of them in the past, they are really good lights.

I don’t know if they are out of business, I just see that all of their products are sold out. I tried getting in touch with them also and got no reply

Convoy L2, L6. Sofirn SP70. I think there’s a couple others out there too.

I never had an L6, but I am eagerly waiting for the “flashholic” Sofirn version of the SP70 (with charger and two PLB HD 26650 HD batteries) from Sofirn.com. I ordered the 5k version which is sadly out of stock at the Sofirn online store right now. But you might ask them for an Amazon code— they may have them in stock at Amazon US still? Or maybe back order… I am two months out from my order which was “pre-ordered” in April and should get here in a week or two (maybe)

Can’t wait to light up this side of town with it :stuck_out_tongue:

Good luck!

I too ordered the Sofirn SP70 flasholic version in late May….it shows as shipped for a couple of weeks now. Sofirn online store is very, very slow. They make fastech actually seem fast. That is hard to do. Love Sofirn lights, their shipping time however, not so much. Some of their tracking numbers are bad as well. I have no idea how to tell if a shipment is lost on some of these orders. The numbers that work, show no expected delivery dates on USPS informed delivery. The SP70 was ordered May 28, and shipped Jun 08. It is also the 5000 color temperature. Why there are not any US stores that buy the Sofirn lights in high numbers to resell for a nice profit is hard to understand. I would certainly have given an extra 10 to 20 bucks for 2 day shipping from a US store.

It is frustrating I know. Another AliExpress order from March is FINALLY stateside three days ago finally. It went back and forth over 3 months. But the seller had sold me good stuff before and I trusted him to finally resolve it all and he like the Sofirn crew are sincerely trying here.

Given that I have received every one of about 10 orders out of China the last year, I have to remember all they are going through a lot lately to keep REAL competition going in this market.

We are getting some very high quality products costing 1/2 of what the Walmart/Home Depot (Wall Street…) scam of the last 20 years would cost for retail goods- I’m buying direct from the craftsmen and cutting out the middleman (who does what lately?)

In the case of Sofirn, they have done a good job with the cards they have been dealt. And they do keep me in the loop and that’s enough good intent for me to keep buying and waiting. And if I really want it fast, they usually can get within 5% with a discount code on Amazon US if I ask kindly.

For me… I HATE buying “landfill” from the average US monopolies of late, and these TRUE entrepreneurs are keeping prices low and quality high. And I’d rather wait the (agreed to up front) time for international shipping to happen and save that $5 bucks myself as I get satisfaction of knowing in the end I got a great deal (on a really great product) compared to any other market I know of out there.

I see Convoy and Sofirn as excellent sources in this market because they really do care about doing it right, and for a fair price. But they can’t control shipping (or a Covid outbreak) and I doubt any retail distributors (in how many countries…?) could stock and sell for less than a 50% or more markup.

So yep, it sucks waiting… but I doubt we could get what we are getting any other way.
