Trustfire X9 and Sunwayman V60C Reflector Size (PICS INSIDE)

Here's a comparison of 2 throwers Trustfire X9 and Sunwayman V60C. But now i'm not talking which on is brighter, but more to their specific parts that make them a thrower flashlight.

I bought X9 earlier than V60C. But, i haven't really tested which one throw further,it is due to inability of my camera to take night shot.

Both are SMO reflector with the same diameter but different in the depth.

Here're some comparison pictures

Interesting pics. Your camera may not take night shots to show us which throws further but what do your naked eyes tell you?

In fact, i never tested their throw :)

Deeper reflectors should help give that slight edge for throw (assuming similar efficiency and quality of design) however the gains are not huge, and show diminshing returns.

The loss is in a narrowing of the spill beam, which results in a tunnel vision effect, which is not as good for general walking imo.

However narrowing aside, the beam quality is improved, with an increased brightness for the immediate corona around the hotspot, and therefore a smoother transition between the defined hotspot and the spill. In other words, the midfield is lit up much better and you get a far more practical beam pattern for mid to long range, at the loss of shortrange peripheral.

The thrunite catapult, armytek predator, neofab legion, are examples of true deep reflectors, which give Great beams for mid to long ranges. The V60C has the short reflector giving a much wider spill, but the lack of corona transition means the middistance feels darker.

Ive got some pics that illustrate this, the M60R and the Legion II, both 15Wish SST-50 emitters, one with a short, one with a very deep reflector.

I did a comparison with these 2 before. V60c outthrow the stock x9. Then I found the 2.8A kd driver lying around for months. So I mod the x9 with the driver and did a comparison again. I will say it’s pretty close, still v60c out throw by a bit.
