I ordered some AAA Pros some time ago and I think they are fake. There is no date stamped on the side which is clear indication of that, right?

Could you please send me some pictures of the packaging and of the batteries?

I got them from AE some time ago. I have ordered real ones too from there, but these were dirt cheap (under 1€/pcs) and I had some coupons so tried my luck. Packing was normal 4 pcs blister and didnt noticed anything weird about that. Too bad I dont have it anymore, but here they are:

My “real” ones have silver lettering, not white like these, date stamp and in + there is silver ending on the wrap when these are just black. I actually noticed that there is something funny about these when tried these in my C01R and got really bad runtimes.

They look really fake!
That ridge near the positive terminal.and the negative terminal.  Where did you buy them?

What do you mean arow55? 950mAh is normal for AAA Pros, but not Minimal, but Typical.

The package should show Up to, or Typ. 950mAh and Min 900mAh / 930mAh depending on the location. 4HCCA should be Min. 900mAh

From AliExpress. My “real” ones dont have those ridges and they also say min. 950 mAh on the side so could they be also fake? Date stamp is 2018 something if I remember right.

Should be Min. 930mAh for the BK 4HCD(E) and Typical 950mAh.

Willing to share pictures of your original as well?

On a different subject wish the light makers would make an AA thrower. I posted something on nitecore Facebook page to make something that uses these smaller leds like Manker MC13 or Acebeam E10. Wouldn’t require a whole lot of power 4AA should do it. Guess I will continue to ask till someone brings out something for us who don’t use lithium cells. Seems all the innovation goes into lithium but most folks don’t use them in the general population.

There is a lot of good sellers out there. Just dont buy the cheapest from a seller called store895672 etc. and without reviews or pictures from buyers. I paid 2.54 € for 4 pieces of these and even though they seem to work in low drain devices pretty ok I still dont know if I should throw them away or not because they are so fake as fakes can be.
Maybe I open one up and see whats what.

MoreLumens, I think those are fake as well. All AAA eneloops have a naked 'behind' there should be a 1mm edge without a wrapper.

Like in this picture: https://www.bazaargadgets.com/image/catalog//products/lights/flashlight/4pcsEneloopBK-4HCCA4CAAA800mAhRechargeableBattery-SKUspanitemprop194422-descriptionImage4.jpg

Besides that, the 950Min is not correct, and the BK 4CCA is for the American market, and the rest of the wrapper shows EU, and that combination is incorrect....
They seemed to have mixed up quite a few things, lol.

Ok thats good to know. Thanks! Now I just need to remember where did I put rest of them. Only two aaa lights and they are not in those. Maybe should also do capacity test with charger to see if they are completely rubbish or not. I have atleast one regular aaa that fits that description of real ones which is HR-4UTGB and stamped with 13-02 AT and again only one was found.

Any ideas would these work/be safe if I remove wrapper or is that the thing that holds these together?

And the white texts are going straight to recycling. Got a little bit over 300 mAh for capacity which explains why I got like only few mins runtime using C01R at highest mode.

So, the higher priced fakes are better?

I dont know if price has anything to do with so called quality in these, BUT those that look a bit better are about 700 mAh so atleast they are a bit better fakes. LOL

Anyone has any theories why they just dont make identical looking copies? I mean some are kinda close, but not many seems “perfect”. There is always something that gives them away.

Well…beneath the plastic wrapper is a metal tube, and physically it should hold up just fine.
But I think the entire casing of the battery is the negative terminal, so you’d have to be mindful of anything metal causing a short.

I also don't know why they do that. It's not so hard.

But it might be something that they can't get sued for. If they do a 1 on 1 copy, they might get sued Smile

Just guessing
