comfortable head strap for 18650 right angle headlamps - like the Sofirn?

I have the wowtac headlamp and the strap is super annoying to wear. I looked to see if I could buy the Sofirn head, but it doesn’t seem available by itself. Any recommendations for comfortable headbands for 18650 right angle headlamps?

I like the Olight headband. I use it with an Eagle Eye X1R - I don’t have an Olight right angle light.

Note: the price on the page I linked to is in Australian dollars.

I think Zebralight headlamp straps or armytech are some of the nicest made .

I wear straps all the way opened up loose over the head around the neck . Only time I tighten and wear on my head is when I need to be very accurate where the light is going .Way more comfy . One reason I don't like / or cut off top strap on a headlamp

I like the strap that came with my Zebralight H600Fc Mk IV. It’s very comfortable and feels secure.

I don’t have a Sofirn SP40 18650 headlamp handy. But the SC31 Pro shares the same 18650 tube and that fits the headband.

you can buy the skillhunt ones they are what I use to replace my stretched out old ones.

are sofirn straps comfortable?

Convoy makes a really good one.

I’ve bought a couple decent headbands from AliExpress before, if you’re okay with the shipping time (11.11 sales are soon, so that’d be a good time).

There are a lot of the same models floating around out there - here’s a listing, for example.
Type A is very similar to Sofirn’s headband, though it seems to be for a larger diameter light (which is fine - Sofirn’s headband feels more suited for AA lights).
Type B (the one I’ve bought before) is very similar to Convoy’s headband, and has worked well with my 18650 headlamps.

Yes. But it might be small for big heads

is it not adjustable??

It is. It fits my large head comfortably but the straps don’t extend any further. The elastic isn’t stretched too much so it’s still comfortable. I guess there’s still some more slack in the elastic to stretch over a larger head. Zebralight’s 18650 headband on the other hand still has room to slide out more.

hm…i dont even know if my head is considered big or not, i always just assumed its average…its definitely not small

If it’s of any use, what I do:

I use Armytek mounting for both my Armytek and Zebralight 18650 lights (ZL is compatible) with a the new version of Zebralight headband (should be supplied with any current orders).

So a hybrid solution. Use Armytek mount due to ease of removal and new version of Zebralight band for quality/durability of material.

Olight mount I also have. Solid design with magnet and easy removal but if you are a gram counter like me on backpacking trips… excluded due to weight.

My head is 24” and the Sofirn SP40 strap is just a tad tighter than I’d like.

ZebraLight headlamp straps are my favorite. I use them with the top strap removed.

how do you measure that…diameter around your temples?

edit: circumference!

i think 24in is not a diameter, but a circumference, unless his head is the size of a yoga ball.

you measure it with a flexible measuring tape, that tailors use, or use a string, wrap it around your head, mark it, then measure the string with a regular ruler or a measuring tape, also land surveying tape can work, it is pretty flexible too.

Thanks for the laugh lol :stuck_out_tongue:

I have ArmyTek headlamps with their older silicone ring type single band and over-the-top models, as well as an older Zebralight and new Wowtac A2S using similar silicone mounts. They are all comfortable to me, once I get them adjusted right. I usually start off with them set at what I think will be right, and usually find out later that I had them a bit too tight. I find the models with the over-the-top strap can be more comfortable because the headband portion doesn't need to be as tight as one on a headlamp that doesn't have the top strap.

ya sorry, i was thinking circumference, i dont know why my fingers typed diameters…lol

I am completely satisfied with the ThruNite headlamp. They are very comfortable. I use this every day. I drop this all the time and haven’t hai had one issue.
