I wouldn’t buy it unless the Outdoor OS cycles from low up to Turbo, never start in Turbo. Needs to have a double press to turbo instead.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the Tactical OS? I’m not sure Turbo/Low would be a good set up when Turbo won’t last very long and Low could be too low. If Turbo has thermal regulation that reduces the output for longer use at higher lumens than the low of 100?

I run a retail flashlight store in New Zealand and could possibly have an interest if this light is successful

Hi Funtastic,

Outdoor OS does cycle from Low to Turbo.
Tactical OS applies thermal regulation to prevent the light from getting too hot, it will to some degree lengthen the runtime.

And thanks for your interest.

Hi Lux-Perpetua, thanks for your comment, We have considered double click for Turbo at the beginning, but then Strobe will go to triple click, and it will take longer time to carry out Strobe, and if you need Strobe, normally should be using it during a emergency, therefore you will expect it to come out more quickly. We will consider ramping in our other products, you mentioned moonlight, but do you mean 1lm when you said 11lm because we already set moonlight 1lm? Answers to your questions: 1. Constant current with Temp Auto Regulation 2-3. SST40 6000-6500K 4. SMO reflector

Sorry about my confusion of the moonlight mode. The 1lm looked like 11lm at first glance with this serif font.

As for recommendations, strobe modes of any kind are (at least on BLF & TLF) often asked to be hidden as far away as possible from the regular modes. Strobe modes are often more of a nuisance than of any help if I may add. My recommendation regarding strobe was also more focused on the OUTDOOR OS but not on the TACTICAL OS (where the importance of strobes may apply more).

Driver-wise: Constant current is good and 1.600lm should probably be in an area around 5-7A of current using SST-40. Will this light also work with 2x CR123A (6V)? What temperature threshold is set for the stepdown? Usually, we get to see lights with a 55°C threshold here.

The LED is probably a bit too cold-white to reach the majority of interested people here. Most people here favor a tint between 4.000K and 5.700K.

I really recommend following flux and chromatic bin:

SST40WDS-F50 N4

chromatic bin DD (~4800K)

Please see a sample beamshot (left spot) from Wildtrail‘s BLF D80 v2…

Thanks Lux-P for your constructive suggestions.

The light will works with 2 pcs CR123A too.
The temperature setting for stepping down is 56°C, the hottest place won’t exceed 56°C.

Thumbs Up

Give it an interchangeable flat and crenulated stainless steel bezel (sand blasted) option if you wish to go full tactical? cool
