SOLD: D80v2 bare non-anodized, XP-L HI & SST-40, USA & PayPal only

I was fortunate enough to get a pair of these during the group buy nearly one year ago.

They have been sitting in the box unopened since then.

I unboxed and powered them up just now to be sure they work.

One XP-L HI and one SST-40.

Both lights are sold.

Price is $40 each, including shipping. USA and PayPal only.

The pair came in one box, so no box included. Just the flashlight and a manual.

Love my light! Maybe too much as I don't take it out enough.  I actually like the grip of the non-ano knurling.

I do recall someone who missed the sale expressing how much they wanted one.

They'll be sold quickly!

These are shelf beauties for sure. What's maybe nice to know is that both versions have a great neutral white tint (SST40 with 4.800K and XP-L HI with 5.000K), more or less handpicked by Jacky Zhang ("WildTrail") and Sven ("TheOnlyDocc").

I was very vocal about missing the run and trying to find one. Found an SST-20 but grabbing an XPL-HI model is enticing

How do you like the SST model, I was thinking of grabbing this but I already have a good amount of throwers

Great flashlights. Hope you sell them quickly, especially since you probably have the smooth knurling version.
Unfortunately, I got unfinished.

Hey All, thanks for the interest in these lights!

I remember some folks in the group buy mentioning rough machining or burrs on their non-anodized lights. I think the manufacturer acknowledged the issue and said they were usually hesitant to sell ‘bare’ lights because those kinds of imperfections are usually smoothed out before anodizing.

These two samples were from the very end of the group buy, and seem nicely machined to me. Here are a couple close-up photos. The only ‘issues’ I can see are within the knurling on the battery tube. The knurling feels pleasantly grippy in hand, and I can’t feel the small burrs.

What! no lanyard? i see what you mean about the knurling. few more nights of playing with this and i’ll have no fingerprints. thanks for the light, i think this will be going in the car to chase those foxes at night.

Probably one of the only flashlights ever sold without a lanyard! Party

BTW, I found a post by contactcr saying a green Scotchbrite pad smoothed out the high spots on a bare D80v2. Not sure how rough their light was to start with.

I have baby soft hands but the pad did the trick easily

it didn’t dull the finish any?

Keep it on only the grippy part. It tears up the pad more than the light. People use scotchbrite pads to polish metal. The green will look like the machine finish it already has if you just grip the pad lightly and spin the tube.

You can get the gray and/or white pads i think if you want to make stuff shine.
