Any idea how long it’s gonna be before we can buy it?

The GT94 is at the top of my list but will have to wait till income tax return. This is not an inexpensive flashlight by any means. 40,000 pennies is a lot of copper! or should I say 97.5% zinc and 2.5% copper as of mid 1982 to date Silly

Not very long. Less than a month if my crystal ball is right.

Get the GT4 like some of us suckers did and grab the GT94 head when they’re available.
I have my doubts though that something won’t change, pressure for 21700’s maybe or something else. The head is going to be 75% of the cost, so maybe this isn’t a viable path for some.
I’m sure or at least hope the GT4 will be a great light.

Well gt4 is not an option. I want max throw and “enough” lumens

Two years ago the BLF GT appeared and took the thrower world by storm…1mcd and 2,000lumen….fast forward to today…just when you think a pure thrower can’t have both (high lux and high lumens, ( and unless of course you go the high-roller’s several thousand dollar Lemax, XeVision and Polarions of the world route)…now comes the new long-throw yet high-lumen all-rounder, the BLF GT94:

My first high end flashlight I bought, or should I say expensive one, was from eBay 12 years ago. It has an HID35 watt bulb and a 13.5V battery that is huge. It came in a nice shiny aluminum case and went by the name of Eagle Eye. I paid almost 400 dollars for it and it was big. I still have it and the same cylinder lithium ion battery still works. You turn it on and it takes about a minute for it to warm up, lol seems like so long ago now. I have been charging that same battery for 12 years every 3 to 4 months. The FF5 reminded me of it. I have not taken it out in years, maybe when my back heals and I am able to walk again I’ll take it outside to see how it compares to my GT.

I have the FF5 for a week now, awesome light and half the size of the GT.
The only thing with HID is when turning it off let the bulb cool down for at least a minute before turning it on again. This to expand the lifetime.

As I always point out in my other posts in some other threads, the 4300k bulb of the hid is a glorious thing to watch, and the light is comparatively very small compared to the GT series and can stand on own, fight with the big boys and even blow some away.

A true flashaholic should own an HID, especially the FF5.

Just a caveat:

The FF5 is either in 100w (10k lumens) or in 42w (4k lumens!)…and no other modes.

I started out with an HID light for my first super thrower as well but sold it as I got too annoyed at the start up and cool down times. Good light once warmed up though.

I am starting to get more and more exciteder by the minute about this light. Will it have more power and significantly more throw than a certain 5 x XHP35 light that took the power thrower scene by storm three and a half years ago? The answer is probably yes.

Will it have more throw than a certain 18 x XHP35 light that came out a little over one year ago? The answer could be yes.

Will this light be ready to order before Ac~~~~m and Im~~~~t come out with their multi 90.2 lights? The answer could very will be yes.

The more the answer to these questions appears to be Yes, the more and more exciteder I am getting by the minute about this light; and for other good reasons, too. I can come up with a guesstimate about how many lumens, but the question is: How many meters throw?

Thank you.  There is currently nothing like that has both 2569 meters throw and also the amount of lumens that it has, so I will be keeping an eye out for when the group buy is announced.

That and the run time and how long it’ll run on Turbo.

I bought the GT4 and am sticking with it, because I’m not too crazy about insane throw distances. And the GT4 already has enough for me. Plus I think XHP70.2s are more efficient than SBT90.2’s.

It’s changed. I have the FF5 and can confirm that the light is two mode (42w and 100w), starts on HIGH, and you can go back and forth between low and high without having to turn off and re-strike.

Has it been confirmed they will offer just the head alone? I don’t expect much of a discount for the head alone, it is like 80-90% of the costs.

According to Tatasal, yes.

For me, it prevents me from having to buy an extra 8 batteries, as well as easier to travel with in a case. Having interchangeable heads is quick access to the best of both worlds.
