Triggering battery protection with hi-draw drop-ins?

I put one of my favorite dropins in my new L2T body along with a red Ultrafire protected 2600 battery. Two seconds after I turned the light on, it turned itself off. With one of Rev Jim's protected 18650 batteries, the light stays on.

So what gives with that, is this common? I measured 3.4A at the tail on high, 1.06 Med and .9 on low.

Never had one kick off before because of too much pull...

Ultrafire batteries are known for higher internal resistances. Their protection circuits also have somewhat higher resistance. They may have tuned the circuit for lower than 3Amps to prevent over heating. I have seen even Trustfire flame's stop in a 5xXML light. They must have been giving 3.5-4Amps there.
