Klarus HC5 - A Cap Light?

This is not a review, just my first impression...

Got myself a unit of Klarus HC5 from my local flashlight retailer.

Very interesting form factor and features.

What I like:

  • Warmish tint (although Klarus says it's 4500K, it's more like ~4000K)
  • No PWM
  • Very compact
  • Simple UI
  • Portable recharge base

What I dislike:

  • No On/Off switch at the portable recharge base
  • The motion sensor (too sensitive, hard to use)

About the motion sensor, there are 2 motion sensors at HC5, if I cover/block one of them, it seems to work better. My initial recharge test using the portable recharge base suggest that the 600mAh is not enough to fully charge HC5's 500mAh battery, so Klarus's claim of "One Charge, Twice as Long" is approximately 110mAh short... however, I'm wondering if it will improve after a few break-in cycles.

Do you have this Klarus HC5? Would appreciate greatly if you can share your experience and/or impression of it. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the feedback. What material is it made of: aluminum, rigid plastic?
