EDC Triple S2+ : SST-20, LH351D, 219C or *?

I just bought the host, driver, lens and the spacer(kiriba-ru) for throwing together an EDC Convoy S2+ with triple LEDs, but I’m stuck at the emitter choice.
The plan is to run each one at 2A, regulated, I hope to have similar brightness throughout battery life.

4000K or a bit below, and also high CRI would be a welcome bonus
I’m aware that I won’t be able to run it at full power for long, does anybody know how much can the S2+ take for longer periods?

The numbers can obviously be kinda off since I took the numbers from emitters of different color temperatures and CRI, but I think it shows the point

SST-20 has a tad low efficacy from what I’ve seen on the tests, but people say it has great color rendering
(3.12v at 2A, 540lm)
(3.005v at 1.4A, 400lm : 74%)

I like the higher output if the 351D, but the brightness at low battery levels seems to go way down
(3.23v at 2A, 922lm)
(3.12v at 1.5A, 727lm : 79%) - still more than the SST-20 at same voltage
(2.99v at 1A, 514lm : 56%)

The 219C could provide the most linear output
(3.04v at 2A, 605lm)
(3.01v at 1.75A, 546lm : 90%)

219B
(3.12v at 2A, 506lm)
(3.02v at 1.25A, 360lm : 71%)

It’d be best if I can order them from a site like kaidomain, preferably pre-soldered onto a PCB , but I can try doing it myself if that’s not possible

I’ve read that the 219C has a great tint, but some say that the 351D’s is better, but I haven’t seen any side by side beams,
Does anyone have identical lights except the emitters?
Any pictures, suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated

For best tint you might add 3500k sw35 d200 r9080 to your options.

219B?
Is it that nicer than the 219C? And why not the 4000k sw40 d220 L2 r9080?
Again, can’t seem to find any side by side shots unfortunately

219b is still the king for best tint and I think everyone should have a light with 219b as a reference.
4000k sw40 d220 L2 r9080 is a good option too.

From what I’ve seen the 219B could be too pinkish for me, but I’d have to see it in person to make a definite decision
If I have to choose between green and pink of same saturation it’s obviously going to be pink, but the least hue the better

Here’s a picture of my Nichia 4000K LEDs. Left is a triple Nichia NVSL219C D240 4000K 90+ CRI and right is a quad Nichia NVSL219BT-V1 4000K D200 L2 R9080. The 219Cs look great and are much brighter, but immediately look greenish when compared to the 219Bs. Both have their advantages, but I prefer the 219Bs.

219Bs are actually a bit more efficient than SST-20s + a minus green filter but you don’t have to worry about overdriving the latter basically at all in a triple setup, whereas it is definitely a concern with 219Bs in a low resistance build. Tint and CRI/Ra/R9 is comparable unless it’s a really bad tint bin of SST-20s.

I’ve found that the SST-20 4000k is usually a very pleasant choice. Can’t go wrong with a 219B, either.

The LH351D lights I have are very nice but definitely lack in the R9 department.

I’d select any of the above over a 219C.

Alright, so I’ve got a pill with 219Bs and a pill with 351Ds
In the end I went for 1A instead of 2A each to get longer runtimes and lower heat

But I have a problem with the 105C drivers - the LEDs shimmer in the 5mA mode, has anyone else experienced this with the Qlite 3.04A drivers from intl-outdoor?
The “moonlight” seems stable with a single 351D, but not with triple 219B, is the Vf of the Nicha too low?

More trouble came - I tore a dome off a Nichia when putting the host together with the triple lens after one emitter wasn’t perfectly centered on the pads

So now I have a 2x 3500k + 1x blue Nichia triple
I was trying to get away from cool whites, but now I have a 10000k

Side by side beamshots coming when the second host arrives and I manage to assemble it, because why not, right?

All my lights look good until I compare them with my 219B PL47.

Mine (1 triple and 1 quad) also have this flickering with Convoy 5A and 6A drivers. And if I leave the light flicker like that for sometime, seems like the drivers will be damaged. I still have no idea what causes that.
