Has anyone ever modded one of these ?

I Put an old Nite Ize Mag LED upgrade in it and it works, but not real well.I runs off two D batteries . I would like to keep it that way.

Can you show us the internals? Might be pretty easy to mod might be not. Inner head diameter and useable length may help further.

Want a throwy or flood light?

I want a flood light too many spotlights in my collection.

Probably achievable by a P60 dropin (one that accepts 0,9-4,2V would be required) less the reflector fitted tightly in the head (thermally conductive) and wired as needed. Then a TIR optics with its plastic holder behind the original lens. Might do the trick very easily or might not. Would not go with XM-L's as i have yet to find a suitable TIR but had pretty good sucess rate with XP-G R5's and XR(P)-E's.

The uniquefire V4 + 45degree frosted TIR was a great simple mod. Absolutely lovely replacement for my ex ultrafire UF-H3D.

I tried that but I don't think the voltage was enough to push it since I am using D batteries and not L.I.

The LED glows but no usable light.

This might do the trick. it is tiny however so make sure you have a way to fit it.
