do you ship to canada?

The light is the CW version.

I never have before. And with me paying shipping I’m a little hesitant to accept that situation.

Pm sent :email:

It looks like we have a deal. Likely sold. I’ll keep everyone posted. I’ll update later, if it’s officially sold or not.
Have a great day.

just curious, how do transactions like these usually go down? paypal first, then ship item?

Hey niajef,

It’s all about trust and MOST people (around the world) are good people and trustworthy… it’s our politicians that are the problem :stuck_out_tongue:

In this particular case, I happened across this listing Fromshadowlands who I have bought lights from before. He sold me a pair of Q8s last summer. They were super clean and price was fair to us both… that’s a “good deal” for both parties (* the only deal I ever want to give or receive).

Most transactions these days (online) between private parties include using Paypal who claim to “protect a buyer” (*if you pay the extra fee for a “transaction”). So if one doesn’t receive the product, Paypal refunds the buyer and flags the seller’s account. In this case, I’ll send Fromshadowlands the funds as a “gift” saving him the transaction fee as he has (just by chance) already proven he’s a good fellow :+1:

cool, good to know, thanks! do we have some kind of system within this forum to mark which seller has proven to be good, which proven to be bad, and which has no history yet?

I’ve seen posts when a seller doesn’t ship as promised and the forum calls them out. There may be a few “warnings” sent out by SB (the forum admin) and a few others when this happens rarely, but often there is sincere concern for the seller and things usually get sorted after a bit.

I may be hesitant to buy from a brand new member, but when they have a history of dialog on the forum going back a while, I will do biz with them without worry. Since the internet came along I have only been burned by one or two sellers in all these years (hundreds of things bought over that time of course). If they needed it that bad and hit hard times… I consider it a “cost of living life” worth the price as I’d rather trust people than be weary of them.

That all said… when a seller doesn’t reply sincerely, or things seem a bit too weird; that is when I’ll pass on a deal.

thats an interesting take on a shitty situation, i like it

I just shipped the light an hour ago. Boom!
Plus I believe PayPal offers protection. Meaning, that if I failed to ship the item, Zappaman could file a claim with them and then PayPal would begin communicating with myself asking me what’s going on, etc…

Sounds like you’re cleaning house.

Dunno if PP even makes good on protection like they used to, but it’s nice to have all the info at-the-ready so you don’t have to retype all your info each time. I once had a shipment (from FT, I think, nothing PP-related) go about 2 buildings down from where I work because I flubbed the building number. Had to chase it down at a yoga studio or women’s gym or whatever that was. Talk about feeling out of place…

But hey, stuff gets lost in the mail, gets swiped out of mailboxes or off porches, etc., so it’s nice to have something just in case. Otherwise buyer or seller has to eat the loss, or “split the difference” which still kinda sucks, but only half as bad.

Anyway, thank B’harni (pbuh!) it was CW, else I probably wouldda been on it like stink on a monkey.

Am I the only oddball that prefers CW over NW?
