I've been a flashoholic for a year or two now. I started with the gateway drug, trying to upgrade some old trusty maglights. Then I made the mistake of picking up a surefire 6p in the clearance rack at Lowes. I didn't buy it, but I was intrigued that anyone in their right mind would buy the 6p at that price.
Long story short, I now own more flashlights than fingers. Not including the tons of lights I've passed on, I currently have 4 ITP, 1 Olight, 3 6P hosts (and too many 18650 cells to count), 3 nitecores(1 in-transit from dd), 1 klarus, 1 xeno, 1 icon, 1 ul2100 xfire (in-transit from dd), 1 fenix, and a couple other generics. I think I'm done.
I also have to give dinodirect some credit for breaking my addiction. Between their insane price hike, unreasonably long shipping times, and shipping me the wrong products, I could not have done it without them.
what i can get from your story is "We are not going to use all our flashlight in real life .Also, it seems that we are only spending money by getting more and more flashlight"
In my opinion, collecting flashlights is a hobby. Hobby is something that we like to do. We dont mind to spend $$$ on our hobby and things that we like. Most of the hobbies are actually sucking our $$$.
You might quit for a while. I don’t need any more flashlights at the moment and yet I’m still interested in the subject and in using them.
I’m always interested in the “perfect” thrower but really at the moment I’m bored with acquiring any more lights.
All flashaholics aren’t created equally Some are collectors. I never was. Some have everyday uses for them (work or whatever). I don’t.
I have other interests to spend money on and having too many flashlights isn’t enjoyable for me. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
It’s a fun subject IMO even when you’re not constantly buying more lights.
Funny, if you sit out for a couple years, when you come back it is all new technology, and you are suddenly a buyin' fool, realizing what you have missed out on. I stopped after the Luxeon came out, didn't come back until the XM-L was hot.
It's an easy thing to say but sometimes not so easy to follow through with. I have been thinking I have every base covered with the lights I own so I don't need any more. Problem is, it's not a matter of need, it's a matter of want. Combine that with the search for better deals, lights that just might be better than the ones I have already and I'm off and running again. Like today, I already have some iTP A3 E0s and a H01 headlight. I found a deal where I could get them for 33% to 50% of what I paid for the ones I have and in the mean time I ordered an iTP A2 that I didn't have and all of a sudden I have 8 more lights coming.
