The Firefoxes pricings are pretty high, shipped would be comfortably above 500 bucks. But their built is real good.
Just take "40 watts" as for your reference, for HIDs this is input power and also it might not be accurate.
What I have measured for the 65W round ballasts generic ones that you see on Ali/Ebay is that it is about 3500 lumens OTF for that 75mm reflector plus throw is in the 200k cd range. They significantly out throw my Fenix TK70 visually (so they would easily out throw a SR90 as well). But they are huge.
The good thing is that it is using 3 x 18650, so the "control is in your hands" and not like a huge battery pack.
I want to get my telescope (haven't got it yet!), my trip to Beijing+Tianjin on Mar 11 is confirmed and i want to go to Japan (prob 6 days) in April before 29th which is their Golden Week. A visit to Japan is now or never as it's 1 year after the tsunami and things are normal now as far as places 200km away from Fukushima is concerned, JNTO (their Tourism promo board) is still giving some good stuff to the local tour agencies and it's really cheap at about 1k per pax for what 6 days.
So.... uugghh! Not much budget.... Lets see first...
Technically speaking, worst case scenario if my 65W is about 3500L OTF, then this is 2200L OTF. But if it's not underpowered then it could be brighter.
I haven’t got to play with it much yet, always start working right when lights arrive…. But yeah, it beats the socks off a STL-V2. I posted a size comparison pic in some other thread, I’ll post it again here.
Hopefully I can get some time to give a few impressions of it, but it’s pretty cool
