I Bought This Charger Last Nite

I figured this would give me a little charging variety option over my Tenergy Speedy Box and the Duracell 15 min charger. And variey is good. This one will charge 4AA batteries in about 8hrs. The 15 min charger I got also came with a 12v car adaptor. I like that if the power ever goes out for a longer amount of time and you need to charge some batteries that is a nice option to have.

The batteries would have cost you about that much money. Charger is free as long as shipping isn't out of line.

David,

I paid $15.05 shipped for it. I also bid on another good one that is a universal charger. Like I need it. LOL!

When are you going to realize that there is a difference between need and want? I didn't need those 8 flashlights I ordered yesterday or the one I ordered last week but I want them. LOL That is a good price you got on that charger.

I thought so. Thanks. 2hr charge time will just give me another option.

Or to purchase new batteries. 2h chargers kills batteries pretty fast.

Well actually that's not all that true.

I'll still get plenty of charges out of my batteries if I use this one from time to time.

Don posted a link to the 15 min charger and you still get quite a few charges before you notice a significant drop off. I suggest you go read it.

It's under the charger setup thread.

And this one is 8 times slower than that one.

I'll do. For occasional "need them charged in a hurry" i see no real issue. All the time @fast rate? Rather not.

Hm, interesting :P

And... after taking a look at Energizer web for more info about that charger, I also visit GP website and found these new chargers from them (much more interesting than Energizer). Check out PowerBank chargers :O :P (especially Premium and Fast series)

I told you guys wrong on this charger. It looks like it will charge 4 AA batteries in about 8hrs. I seen the 2 and thought it was 2hrs. But that I guess is good. I'm stocking up on AA batteries and might need this one.

Not true at all. It is commonly thought that the best way to charge NiMH cells is between a 1C and 0.5C charge rate (1 or 2 hours). 15 minute chargers kill. Chargers without independent channels kill. Dumb chargers which teminate the charge based on a timer kill.

I don't think a 2 hour battery charger is bad for NiMh batteries. I read over on CPF that the preferred rate of charge on a NiMh is about 1/2 the stored mAh of the battery. For instance, an eneloop is rated at 2000 mAh. Charging them at 1000ma would take about 2 hours from empty which shouldn't hurt the batteries.

ILIKE: With all the money you are spending on lights, you might want to pick up a Maha C9000. Buy once, cry once.

I was looking an Energizer's chargers after reading a post here. They actually make a charger that doesn't cut off. Not even with a timer. It just charges until you take the batteries out. That's beyond "dumb". Energizer has about 10 different chargers and I wouldn't use any of them.
