please stop with the huge names/LOGOs plastered all over your head straps. :person_facepalming:
i’m more than happy to tell people about product, and even suggest it if i like it.
i’m on the market for a headlamp (21700) but these straps are really obnoxious.
something small in one location? i’d be ok with that.
…but with the current trend, first stop is a dip in a tub of black clothing dye.
I also complained long time ago. But it seems as if the fonts get bigger and the designs get brighter in color. Maybe it’s time for a BLF head strap in a few plain colours and with a modest logo that can be removed if desired.
Doubt your talking about me but thats what I been doing for years. I use Elastic band fabric and order whatever color or design I want and replace the straps on my headlamps. I tend to pick orange for most of mine because I use them hunting. IMHO no point in wearing an orange hat for safety then put black straps all over it.
i get that sometimes when the company logo is too big on something, it can get ugly, so its an aesthetic issue, but aint nobody wearing a headlamp strap for fashion, so thats not an issue here. how u gonna hate on manufacturers for wanting to let people know what brand this product is??? thats like the most normal thing since the beginning of time. when your brand makes it big, widely recognized, then u can start taking the aesthetic route of a tiny logo to make things look pretty overall, or no logo at all if ur design is unique, but for small companies, thats literally part of their livelihood, they cant always count on the consumer to just tell everybody about it, they need to get their names out there, good quality or bad, if others just casually see someone else using it with that logo, the name sticks to them, and they may consider it for the future, thats part of the strategy. hence the bigger the name, the easier it is to see and read.
with that said, im not saying i like it when its all big and bold and ugly, im just saying it is what it is, theres no point complaining about it. if u like the quality, wear it proudly and let ppl know about it, save urself some breath, if u dont, just dont wear it again, nobody has to see, including urself
i dont mean it doesnt matter how much we complaint, they wont change, i just mean we shouldnt try to stifle their attempt to get their name out, especially for smaller brands with good quality.
Garish logos on the headbands? As if people don’t look goofy enough wearing a headlamp…
One thing to be aware of is that if you do dye the bands, and wear it when you sweat, you run the risk of having it “bleed” a band of color across your forehead, too.
RIT is the usual dye that springs to mind. Been using that since I was a kid.
