I’m curious Tom E what one you think you’ll get? And could you please post pics if you tear it down.

Reason- I want to reflow a different led into one of mine and I went to loosen the bezel and heard a “crunch” type of noise, and then stopped and haven’t proceeded since, I was worried I’d east her break one of the TIR optics legs or ruin the wiring on the MCPCB. I have no idea what it’s going to look like once the bezel and optic are removed bc you have no view on the board with The optic in place.

No one opened it up yet? Weird... Yep, I'll definitely try, just need a working coupon code. I never looked much at this light because of the optics, but from the reports here, looks like the optics/beam and throw are pretty decent. Just gotta decide SST-40 or XHP50.2, and hoping the gray will still be available. Wish they had it in green though.

Ohhh - ship before Feb 4th now, depending on choices... frown

It is to open and at least mine has not taken any damage.
The bezel is holding a glas lens, underneath a white o-Ring, followed by the TIR.
The TIR has 3 feet sitting in 3 holes of the MCB to avoid rotating.
If I could upload photos here directly I would add them…

Thanks Tom! Glad you were able to get one to ship a little sooner too. The blue is really nicely done, but I’m with you on the green. Astrolux does nice greens too. Btw just ordered a d4s in green, can’t wait!

Awesome, thanks for the info! I’ll be taking mine apart tonight hopefully. Do you have way to measure the mcpcb width? Thanks again!

These are real nice lights, I feel they will be as successful as the EC01.

Are there any (slight) differences between Mateminco MT01 Mini and the EA01?

They’re throwers so they’re less versatile, also they’re chunkier due to they type of cells they use (21700 is the future and they’re already cheaper than 26650). They’re good but I don’t think they will be particularily successful.

I agree as to how nice they are. I have a real affinity for them. But, as someone stated I think the battery size tube will hold them back a little, but mostly I think the PRICE will hold them back from ever being as popular as the ec01. Abd I like the ea01 more then the ec01. But I feel what has made the ec01 so popular is how solid of a performer it is, anduril, usbc AND you can get them for $22 many times a year.. that’s hard to compete with…

BUT, you’re right they are going to be around for awhile

I don’t get it. Its $44 with coupon and it takes 26650, 2100, and 18650 batteries. It also takes 26350 and comes with matching tube. How is the battery size holding it back?

I’m starting to like this light. Same as some other lights from astrolux… Big Smile

Really like the blue color. Only downside is that the led choices are not really what I want.
The ‘warmest’ xhp50.2 might be to cool for me. But that probably won’t hold me back for long.

Sorry, yea that doesn’t make sense what I said, I meant the larger diameter of the battery tube COULD hold some people back from buying it. As the ec01’s smaller (although nit much smaller) battery tube may lend itself more toward edc. But you make a good point, the versatility of the ea01 tube is more desirable I’d say

FT02S green seems to be a bit darker green than MF01-Mini olive green

Hi! I’ve not ordered any lights for a while but this looks interesting.
Are there still a code for this?

Good picture to compare, thank you! Was thinking of ordering the MF01 Mini, but read there are too many problems with heat sink unfortunately. EA01 will be much better on that for sure.

I ordered my mf01 mini 3 months ago and the heat sink that came in it from BG is brass. I was part of The thread for the custom copper heat sinks here on blf, but ended up no needing one bc astrolux APPEARS To have fixed the problem. I remember others saying their new mf01 mini came with the copper brass as well in that thread. The mf01 mini is another home run light by Astrolux

The MINI is quite good IMO. I think the heatsink issue is fixed in the current ones, I got one a few months ago and it had the brass heatsink (although fitted the wrong way round). But it does get HOT, simply due to what it is.

The EA01 is a far more versatile torch IMO. And due to being a single emitter it pulls a lot less amps on High or Turbo. And thusly a lot less heat to manage.

How can you tell which heatsink you have? I removed my head and there is a white plastic showing.

Copper was only from a custom add-on, ordered and installed by the buyer (you?), so if it's from the factory or BG, must be brass.

If you take the head off the battery tube and underneath the head where the positive battery contact is it is surrounded by white plastic then you have the plastic insert. Not brass

Ohhh, my bad. Was think'n the question was between copper or brass, but there was plastic originally, but plastic isn't a heatsink smile
