New BLF LT1 lantern arrived with batteries that won't charge

I just received my BLF lantern and the included Sofirn batteries won’t take a charge. Is there anything I’m doing wrong? I’ve used the included usb-c charger and my nightcore charger and they won’t accept a charge. Seems unlikely the batteries would arrive faulty?
Thanks

Have you checked if they have any kind of sticker in the bottom (negative pole)?
Some batteries have that to prevent discharge/activation during shipping.

Yes I checked and the sticker had already been removed.(probably from customs?) I intalled some other batteries I had on hand and the light worked fine. Hopefully Sofirn will replace with new batteries?

Do you have any other flashlight in which you can try to use them, just to try some kind of activation?
Or do you have a multimeter to check their voltage?

When I have problems with batteries with very low levels, I use the Nitecore charger, but you seem to be having issues with it too… :zipper_mouth_face:

I intalled them in my K65GT and they appear to be dead. I was hoping my nitecore would recondition them but it didn’t.

That’s a bit strange. Was everything neatly packed? Orange o-ring in a bag.

Here’s what my LT1 looked like when unboxing:

Yes it looked similiar. Maybe not quite as tidy as the one in your pic?

That’s really strange that all four batteries are dead. Are you absolutely sure there’s no clear sticker on the negative of the battery? Can you scrape the bare metal with a sharp knife lightly to check there’s no plastic?

What do you mean by recondition? My XTAR chargers have a 0-Volt capability.
My Vapcell and LiitoKale chargers also have that option, but my Nitecore does not.

A 0-volt capability means the charger will recognise a cell as LiION, even at (almost) 0 Volt.
My (older) Nitecore thinks a LiION cell with a (very) low Voltage is NiMH and stops charging.

Are you sure there is no (almost invisible) sticker? Try to make a little scratch on the bottom.
Did you get flat-top cells? If you did, do they have a sticker on the top?
Do you own a DMM? If so, what does it read? Sofirn migh want a video showing a 0 Voltage.

Did you receive the cells IN the lantern? Do you see signs customs may have opened the parcel?
Indications that someone has opened the parcel and played with the content are very rare.

If all questions can be answered with NO => contact Sofirn.

Yes you are correct…I didn’t realize there was a sticker on the negative end. The batteries are fine and I feel silly for not noticing this. Thanks to everyone for their help.

Dude, that was literally the first question asked, and you said the stickers had already been removed… geeze

I wish I had never made a similar mistake in my life.
Replaced an area light above our garage with a new unit. Erratic activation caused me to replace the motion sensor and then replace the unit.
On tracing power to the source we finally found a dodgy plugin wire connector to the control switch.
It is a complete circuit we should consider.
