Sofirn SP33V3 or IF25A

Hello.

How is the IF25A compared to the sp33v3?
In term of beam profile, working brightness. And other factor?

In short…

SP33v3 is a bit more throwy, while IF25a has a wider beam (by about 20%). They both are still close in throw when pushed up to turbo… and they both throttle down while heating up (after a few minutes).

The SP33v3 will have a slight edge after the thermal circuit pulls them both back down to a continuous running output somewhere between 400-500 lumens (IIRC). The SP33v3 will run longer, but not by much if you use a newer high capacity 21700 in the IF25a (like Molicel and some others are making now getting up to 5000mAhs). Last… the IF25a will give you a nice wider beam further out compared to the SP33v3’s beam (like about 120 yards or so is where you see more to the sides with the IF25a).

They are both very great lights for the average user who doesn’t need to see 200 yards away for more than a few minutes. Used outside, I suggest getting the 6.5k version (both in stock) for either model. The IF25a has a slightly warmer beam between both models in the 6.5k rating (which I prefer for use OUTDOORS). If you want a lower (4k- 5k = warmer) light, the SP33v3 5k is stocked out (and has been since Aug.) The IF25a has a 4K option that is available as I write this today.

Thanks. I guess IF25A more versatile for me.
I don’t like cold white. But I don’t like too warm. More to neutral. I got the sp40 4k bit found out it’s to warm.

The 6500k if25a do you feels it’s near warm white and what do you feel is the actual temperature?

I prefer the IF25a over the SP33v3 for what I use it for AND like you, I want a more white Vs. blue beam.

I’d put both the IF25a and newer SC31 Pro at about 6000-62000k. But the SP33v3 (edited 12/3 to correct, not the V2) isn’t bad, just more blue. This is probably why it has a touch more throw also.

I haven’t really tested these two lights side by side for over a few minutes for fast reviews I did for both. I’d like to have more time to run them both on high for a few hours then check them. But I (and you) could probably find run-time charts for them and compare them on paper.

Again… both great lights and I own several of both in different tints. The IF25a 4k I’d not buy again because it just can’t throw like the 6.5k without getting too hot fast. So given you asked my opinion on the lower tint versions… I’d take the SP33v3 with the 5k tint over the IF25a in the 4k.

Sadly, the 5k SP33v3 has been stocked out for over 3 months now (as has the SD-05 dive light in 5k I also want).

I think I’m going to buy the 6500k IF25A. And get the 6500k sc31pro.
Somehow I feel that the 5000k sc31pro high is not as bright as sp32av2. Though I have not programmed them.

Does your SP32A V2.0 step down from turbo when in ramping mode? Mine seems not to. Also does not seem to need to.

FYI… The SP33v3 just came back into stock in the 5k tint! Getting one finally!

I am pretty sure it does, but much more slowly. And it holds higher lumens after stepping down compared to the SC31 Pro.

Must be so gradual I don’t notice it.

I’m not aware of this. If it did it’s not really noticeable.
