CellPhone: Gold Batteries, anyone tried them?

My smartphone has a 1000mAh battery, it is big and I think it doesn't have enough capacity, so looking on eBay I found an expensive "Gold Battery" with high capacity, and pretty expensive (but if it's real, I think it worth the price).

Here are some of them for different cellphones: http://www.ebay.com/sch/e_cell/m.html?_nkw=gold+battery&_trkparms=65%253A15%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1&rt=nc&_sticky=1&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_sop=12&_sc=1

They say "2430mAh", so may be I can buy one, and if it hasn't almost 2000mAh (or even 1500mAh) I can open a case and return the item; but instead of that I prefer to ask: Anybody already tried them? What do you think?

Generally speaking, when you are talking about a major OEM manufacturer, they will be using the best cells that fit their battery packs. Manufacturers tend to get the pick of A grade cells.

Short of this being a very old device, and battery technology having advanced greatly, I find it very unlikely that a third party battery manufacturer would be able to offer a battery pack with considerably more than twice the capacity of the OEM pack.

If you look at negative feedback, these batteries are in best case same capacity as original. That is if you even receive it...

+1 that is way too much negative feedback.

probably are lipo batteries, looking better have plastic case, care to don't make an hole... here not photoshopped gold battery?

pricey, chinese i would pass

Well... you were right.

I ordered one to give it a try.

First full discharge to 3.0v at 100mA = 1051mAh

Second full discharge to 3.0v at 100mA = 1053mAh

Not bad, but not what was described.

Opened a case and got a refund at my paypal account (not in my card this time, interesting...)

I'm going to test the current phone battery and see what happens, I think the gold one is better because the bat I'm using is not original.

The interesting part also is, that it took 50 days to arrive, because he used the very cheapest way to ship. Normally from UK it takes from 9 to 15 days to my home...

So, it's an expensive item, not as described, and with the cheapest shipping available at Royal Mail.

Also, BEWARE and AVOID buying from e-cell, he scams many people. More info here: http://fotios.org/forum/7
