Cold Weather Runtime Testing Convoy S2+ and Zebralight H600w MKIV

These runtime charts were recorded outside when the air temperature was between 28°f and 30°f (–2°c to –1°c). A fan was placed on the lights to simulate riding a bicycle between 16-19 miles per hour (25kph-30kph) as that is my expected use case, and the reason for the experiment – I noted decreased runtime during winter while using the Zebralight H600w MKIV as a helmet light at H1 and was curious if it was due to lower cell performance or better heat dissipation in the colder air.

The inside runtimes were performed with the same fan speed at 70°f (21°c).

Cells used were Sanyo NCR18650GA verified 3500mah on a XTAR VC4S charger. Runtime recorded with CeilingBounce App. I’ve broken out the data in graphs of 100 minutes (total runtime), 40 minutes (regulated runtime for Zebralight H1), and 5 minutes (to show the temperature induced, or lack thereof, drop)

Both the Convoy S2+ and Zebralight H600w MKIV are impressive lights.

excellent info! THANKS for taking the time to show us your results. I am looking at an S2+ and like what I am seeing here! :+1:
